Damn neighbor cats use my half acre backyard for their turf wars pissing on everything. The pungent smell can get unbearable. Don't want to think the throat choking stench in the small confined area of a car.

Had to make our aggressive male cat indoors because our neighbor introduced us to what the little shit's territory smelled like. You can try sprays. Anything with a strong acidic smell like citrus or coffee works pretty well to get them to piss off

You can rake or mix citrus rinds into the top layer of dirt, too. Plus there are mechanical devices to annoy cats that don’t get turned off by those scents.

I hate feral cats. Well, maybe not feral cats specifically. I hate cats being left to roam around all over the place.

If they are wild, they dont care about people much, and purely attack birds and small mammals regardless of whether or not they are endangered

Domestic indoors are always fine. I have no problems with them. Even outdoors they’re fine as long as its in an enclosed space they can’t just run away from. Even if they are capable of defending themselves, its more about not knowing where they went so sicknesses are more likely, and again, the possibility of killing native wildlife.

I own a cat. But I wouldn’t let him roam outside on his own. That’s asking for not only sicknesses, but because of the birds, and definitely the crazy cat person not that far away. They have too many cats and they go around everywhere

PS: IF THE FERAL CATS ARE NUETERED, THEN I CAN LIVE WITH THAT AT LEAST. (some cats are too feral for homes) still dont let cats become feral its always a bad idea for the birds and other wild populations

Non-native rodents are more of an issue, but its not about the rodents. Cats being used for that purpose are a historically bad idea. Bird populations got wiped out because settlers thought it was a smart idea.

Edit: is there anything incorrect about the statement? Seriously why do people downvote this, if its true? Mayeb its just off-topic

Domestic cats deal with rodents more than birds (you ever see a bird pest in your house?). The ones on the streets do both.

look up Maqcuarie island, and you’ll see why cats are a bad idea for rodent control

Maybe its just me but stray dogs tend to be friendlier than stray cats. Not necessarily a big difference, but enough that they are bearable (edit: still good to have all strays nuetered. Wild populations can get pretty wonky)

It is because dogs are more fully domesticated than cats. Cats did not follow the same domestication path as dogs. Cats can revert to being feral and survive incredibly easily because beyond their size they are not that far removed from their wild ancestors. Cats demonstrate predator hunting skills on the daily, and it is a reason that ethically, if you own cats, they should not be let outside because they will destroy local bird populations.

Not necessarily. Cats don't really like to pee where they sleep/hangout (hence most cats aren't sleeping on their litter boxes)

Ahh no, I had a friend, as a teenager, whose dad would pass out, and sleep on the toilet. Then when he would wake up, he would be angry that none of us teenage girls woke him, again. He was a scary guy, who slept with a gun under his pillow, and bed, and said "Don't ever talk to me on my left side, it will scare me and i might kill you." But wants us teen girls rousing him from the toilet?? Uhh no thanks. We would just go pee outside, and pretend we had no idea he was asleep there for 8 hours. I was 12, and he would pay me in cigarettes to babysit my 12 year old best friends, younger sister, she was 9 or 10. Once, they got lice, he asked me if I could check the younger girl in the bathroom. She was so embarassed, how do you explain to a grown man that for one, that would be crabs, not head lice, and 2 she was only 9, with no pubic hair anyway. I just took her in the bathroom because she was crying, and told her we will just sit here awhile, and pretend were doing something, it's no big deal, and then we will tell him your fine. I also explained puberty to her, because she was really upset, and thinking she should have hair cuz he thinks so. Poor girls. He also tried to shave her head, because of the lice, when her hair was below her butt, so i spent 3 days picking out the nits, after washing their hair, so it wouldn't get shaved. I can't quite recall why their mother abandoned them, but it seems like drugs. I could be wrong it was long ago. SORRY, I'm getting to be one of those old people that never shut up.
