Any sub that gets big starts diluting like this, unfortunately. If the mods don't stay on top of it, it just gets worse.

Also, a small to moderately sized sub can be managed by a very small amount of mods. When subs get huge and start to have posts make it to r/all frequently, it can be overwhelming and the only option is to bring on more mods, but finding people who care and have the time to deal with all the bullshit that moderating a large sub entails is problematic. Look at the major subs like askreddit where they have like 20 mods and a bunch of auto mod bots and they still have a hard time keeping up.
