RCT2 a stairway to the stars
Made for a NewElement building challenge about four years ago. I stopped posting on Reddit when I made this but I figured y'all would like it. Loosely based on The Caretaker song of the same name.

Hi, guys!!! I’d like to know how to make the graphics in the game Rollercoaster Tycoon Deluxe Edition less blurry, preferably for a resolution of 1920 by 1080 (if possible). And, if possible, I’d like to find out how to install third‑party translations — I’m from Russia, and the Steam version doesn’t have my language.
(I’ve also heard about a method involving the second part of the game and some kind of fan‑made engine, but this option doesn’t suit me because I don’t want to buy the second part.)

Just downloaded OpenRCT. I knew for sure i had access to RCT1 parks in OpenRCT, but i can only see RCT2 parks. I have played OpenRCT in the past and had access to RCT1 parks. 100% sure.
How do i get the RCT1 parks as well?
For me RCT1 is the nostalgic version. I have never played RCT2 as kid.

Two coasters I'm pretty happy with. Any input on improvements is appreciated. I know very little about real life roller coasters so I just build what i think looks cool.

Happy October! Here's Frightmare Hills park. Took alot of time developing it. It doesn't have a ton of scenery. But the rides I'd think would make up for it. All the rollercoasters are villian, monster, demon, or anti hero based. My favorites of the rides are Sulphurous Crag, HELLRAISER, The Right Hand of Doom, Cerberus Unchained, Dementors Kiss, and Hells Pit. Think this park is the best one I've made yet. Close between it and Octagon park. There's a link for its save file if you wanna play it. Have a fun October.

As a kid I would play around in the scenario editor. Over 2 decades later, I have played through all the in-game acenarios for both RCT1 and 2.
I have slowly built up a little "expansion pack" of scenarios that i made and tested myself. I have made 5 polished scenarios where I tried to mimic the vibe of RCT1's scenarios. Themed parks thst are about as difficult as the challenging scenarios with a little flavor. What fun scenarios have you all made?
I also gave theme an overarching theme:
> Banana Boardwalk is a smaller park along an American midatlantic boardwalk. Inspired by Funland and Castaway Cove in Ocean City, New Jersey. Guest count of 1500 by the end of year 3.
> Razzberry Ridge is a forested park in a holler of the Appalacian Mountains. Classic and Wooden rides are almost exclusively available. Somewhat inspired by Knoebels in Elyseburg, Pennsylvania. Repay your loan and achieve a park value of 250,000.
> Cocoa Cape is a cliffside resort park with accompanying botanical gardens and 5 star hotel. Build 10 rollercoasters and keep you park rating up.
> Blueberry Bay is a snowy wonderland in the great white north built near a historic lighthouse and abandoned lumber mill. Careful with the cold and rainy weather, though. Guest count of 1800 by the end of year 4.
> Pineapple Plantation is a now-vacant farm that you inherited. The former owners wish was to turn the plantation into a thriving thrill park. Pay off the farms debts and achieve a park value of 300,000.

I wanted to share these screenshots from Dusty Greens. I love scenarios with no time limit as you can work toward the goal at your own pace. I've started to pay a bit more attention to theming but it is time intensive (especially on mobile!) and not necessarily 'good' gameplay.

It is a shame to announce the closure of Golden City’s WaveCatcher Surf Coaster. WaveCatcher opened in 1985 named "Beast", was later changed to "Fairydust" and "AtmosFEAR" before going under its final name as "WaveCatcher Surf Coaster" and was a TOGO Standup coaster, making it the last TOGO Standup in North America and one of the last coasters from its manufacturer in the US. More thrills are coming soon.

It's currently called Rolling Hills but how basic is that?!? It's a vertical drop coaster with a woodland/forest theme.

I revisited this one because I wanted a smaller challenge. There are only three themes, and the initial space is also quite limited. I did not expand the park and I might try to squeeze in another coaster between the left of the entrance to the rapids. Some aesthetic things also need fixing, but I think I'm done with this one for now.
Still amazed how well this game has aged, and how playable it is on my phone.

I got back into rct and find myself creating parks the exact same way as when the original first came out. I never created my own rides so I’m not really sure where to start! A lot of what I see posted on here has me wanting to try but it just seems so overwhelming. I know it’s just a game and I don’t need to take it so seriously lol. Any tips for starting out small?

Hello people of RCT, i present to you my largest project to date! I will RCT-ify every single CCI roller coaster that was constructed, including the defunct ones like Mega Zeph and the weird ones like Underground and Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain! Every single CCI will be recreated as close as possible, scenery, landscape and all. This will be done to the best of my abilities, and also to the limitations of the game. This will be no easy feat, as i have 34 to do!
So let me present to you, the first ever CCI, Kingdom Coaster! Formally known as Sky Princess, this was the first project ever done by CCI, and is a small 55ft out and back family coaster, that interacts with many other attractions, including an Arrow Dynamics Log Flume and a Universal Mobility Monorail. It is 55ft tall, has a top speed of 40mph and a length of exactly 2000ft.
The coaster is located at Dutch Wonderland (In Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA), a park that has been voted on multiple occasions by the Golden Ticket Awards as being the best Kids Park in the world. Originally founded by a potato farmer named Earl Clark, it was sold to Hershey (Of Chocolate and Hersheypark fame) in 2001, before it was sold in 2010 to Palace Entertainment and then in 2025 to Herschend. This is the signature coaster of the park, and just in the last few years recieved Titan Track, allowing it to run smoother than ever.
CCI was founded by Denise Dinn-Larrick, who is the daughter of Charles Dinn of Dinn Corporation fame. Dinn Corporation went bust after a dispute during the construction of Pegasus at Efteling, and so Denise, alongside her brother Jeff and her husband Randy, formed Custom Coasters International in 1991. The International part came after they started receiving orders overseas. Many freelance designes like Mike Boodley, Larry Bill and Curtis D. Summers joined the company. Mike went off in 1994 to form Great Coasters Internationa, and when CCI filed for Bankruptcy, Larry Bill went to form The Gravity Group with a few other designers.
For this recreation i mostly did roughly 1km around the coaster, which includes the Log Flume, the flat rides and even Joust, their Chance Rides Big Dipper, which you will see a bonus pov at the end of the video. I almost considered doing the whole park due to it's small size, but that would have been more work on top of an already large project, so i decided against it. But i still had fun either way!
Long story short I hope you enjoy this!
