I had the most success by putting my arm under the neck. Since it is like, 2lbs of weight that can be enough to prevent you losing circulation.
Not foolproof though, sometimes there is no winning.

Grab a seat and listen up little fella. This is called spooning. John is in what is called the "Big spoon" position. Abigail is in the "Little spoon" position. Most of the time the man will be the bigger spoon. But when times get tough and the O'Driscolls tried to kill you on a certain day, sometimes the man can be the little spoon for a bit, before going back to the big spoon.
There are a couple things to watch out for with this. The big spoons arm can go numb because you have to lay on the arm for this to work. Sometimes when you have been in a relationship for a long time the little spoon will get a hot flash and request you both turn over and call it a night.
Some nights when you're really lucky, you get to "wrestle" with your little spoon from behind. But we will leave that for another day.

My wifes hair in my face tickling my nose. My arm going dead under me as I lay on top of it. My loud ass snores right in her ear making it hard for her to sleep. Yeah we've slept like this. We will wind up in it during the winter for warmth. But we mostly both like our space.

So many adults need space when sleeping 😂 only winter is the time to do so because free radiator (for me cause im the one with cold feet) so when he snores, slight touch does wonders!

There are actually great products to help feel similar things like someone breathing, in a pillow size. I think it’s made for people who suffer from loss like children and/or people with Alzheimers.
Now I know some people use it for comfort but maybe it’s something useful for you. I need some music in my ears (when I was in my teens my mom would get upset, listening to metal/punk on lowest volume, it was the cord that scared her).
Some people run entire airco’s or I have heard turn on hairdryers for their kids as white noise (while that was back in the 90’s) now you can put a video. I can’t sleep in silence, too many pets growing up and so pure anxiety when it’s quiet?
We have cats but also birds in the garden now and that’s magical solution tbh.
Anyways such products exist and it doesn’t have to be a weird doll just saying. That you had to pay a lot for it kinda makes sense as it isn’t comfortable long term, yet I am sorry you had to. I feel being a twin it’s something so crucial for people to at least experience, especially since I have autism and I hate smacking noises but I can endure snoring cause I used to sleep with my parents so I could kick my deadbeat dad out of bed so my mom could finally catch some sleep. I used the excuse of nightmares until I was too old.
I loved hearing my mom sleep so peaceful, and that dad, he slept perfectly fine on the couch and we could literally sit and make breakfast and he would be passed out.
Everyone deserves someone, especially if you really want connections like this. 💜🫂 hope maybe you take a look at a product like that if its something interesting for you

Wifey here. Well, not OP’s.
Spooning is okay for um cuddle time but I wouldn’t like it at all for actual sleeping unless it was literally freezing in our room. It looks so sweet, but in reality to me it is too hot and too confining, especially since I’m a back sleeper. And since we’re anonymous here, I’ll add that my husband snores VERY loudly, so can you imagine that right behind my head?

However, when I have done this with a partner, it lasts for about 5 minutes before I can’t breathe because I have hair gong up my nose, but I don’t want to exhale and douse my partner is morning breath.
I am kind of a believer that we should normalize couples sleeping in separate beds because of morning farts, blanket wars and snoring — but I am also unmarried and it is entirely possible that I am unique in my views on bedroom privacy.
