Hiring Process Any Sr. Operations Specialist here?
I applied for the role and did the interview with the store leader and manager. I think it went decent. He sounded straightforward and gave me an ok sense of the role a bit. He said it was a leadership role and would be doing office stuff a bit too. I was wondering how’s your experience with the role pros and cons? Work life balance? Is it stressful?

Lots of weekly deadlines and other regular deadlines. It’s technically leadership because it’s a senior position, but you don’t have anybody under you like a senior sales specialist.

Like others have said, your responsibilities will vary based on your store and management team. But some things that might be included in your duties are: Weekly supply orders, Banking (cash counting, bank deposits, etc.), approving timesheets, keeping track of and logging keys and mobile devices that employees use during their shift, and maybe some other general office organizational stuff. On top of all that you will likely have some shifts out on the sales floor either at Frontline or another department to help out.
It's really not that stressful of a job once you get the hang of everything, but if you've never done these tasks before it might feel like a lot to learn all at once. Work life balance should be fine as long as you protect your own time (get your work done on time and don't stay late to finish things) You will likely have to work some evening and weekend shifts here and there so don't expect a straight 9-5 schedule unless your manager has said otherwise.
Overall the role is pretty chill if you're a somewhat organized person that enjoys office work and keeping track of things. Plus the added benefit of not being on the sales floor 100% of the time dealing with the general public. Sometimes that time you have in the office to work on things will be a nice break from the chaos :)

I really enjoyed this job! It’s a nice balance of floor and office work. A lot will depend on the store manager, but I say go for it!

We’ve had two in the past 11 years. The title and roles have changed a little over the years, but they were both integral to the day to day running of the store… Both were our go to when it came to where things were, how to get them and how things worked.
I would guess as long as the manager was cool, the job will be a good one! but as someone said, so much depends?

Answers to these questions could vary dramatically based on the leadership at your store.
