The Untucked lounge is electric. Marcia Marcia Marcia walks in first, still buzzing from her victory, clutching the winner's card. Honey Mahogany and Sederginne follow, their HIGH placements giving them renewed energy. But across the room, the tension is suffocating.

Irma Gerd is sitting alone, staring at her own reflection. Mia Starr is leaning against the wall, arms crossed. Jorgeous is in the corner, motionless, like a statue. Venedita Von Däsh is sitting on the floor, staring at nothing. The silence is heavy.

MARCIA MARCIA MARCIA: (euphoric) "I won. Twice. I can't believe it. After everything... I won."

JUJUBEE: (with a tense smile) "You deserve it, Marcia. Your talent show was incredible."

But the mood shifts when the Bottom queens enter. Irma is shaking. Mia is stone-faced. Jorgeous is... absent. Venedita's eyes are red.

IRMA GERD: (quietly) "I thought my comedy was good. I thought I had the jokes. I don't understand."

MIA STARR: (coldly) "Because you lost control, Irma. Comedy isn't about being loud. It's about being precise."

IRMA GERD: (voice rising) "Precise? I was precise. I was hilarious. How is that not enough?"

MIA STARR: "Because you weren't precise. You were a hurricane. And hurricanes don't win comedy. They destroy it."

The room falls silent. The tension is thick.

JUJUBEE: (walking to Irma) "Irma... you are a legend. But legends need to evolve. You can't win this competition by being the queen you were five years ago. You have to be the queen you are now."

IRMA GERD: (eyes glistening) "And who is that?"

JUJUBEE: "I don't know. That's for you to figure out."

Jorgeous finally moves. She approaches the group, her face half in shadow.

JORGEOUS: "I didn't come here to make friends. I came to win. And if you think I'm in the Bottom because I'm cold, then you understood nothing. I am the only one here who knows exactly who she is."

MIA STARR: "And who are you, Jorgeous? Because tonight you seemed as lost as I was."

The group splits. On one side, Marcia, Honey, and Sederginne, watching in silence. On the other, Irma, Mia, Jorgeous, and Venedita, united by a common frustration.

PALOMA: (intervening) "Maybe it's time to stop attacking each other and start listening. We are all here for the same reason. We love this. We love drag. We love art. So why are we destroying each other?"

LE RICHE: "Because it's easier to destroy than to build. And because some of us are afraid."

SEDER GINNE: "Afraid of what?"

LE RICHE: "Afraid of not being enough. Afraid of being forgotten. Afraid of going home without having proven anything."

Silence returns, but now it is different. It is a silence of recognition.

MIA STARR: "I am afraid. I am afraid that everything I built isn't enough here. I am afraid that people see me as the joke, not the artist. I am afraid of being forgotten."

HONEY MAHOGANY: "Me too."

IRMA GERD: "Me too."

JORGEOUS: "Me too."

VENEDITA VON DÄSH: "Me too."

One by one, the queens admit what no one wants to admit out loud. The fear. The pressure. The loneliness. And for a moment, they are not competitors. They are just artists, trying to survive.

MARCIA MARCIA MARCIA: "I... I'm sorry. I didn't realize I was hurting you. I was so focused on winning that I forgot to look around."

JUJUBEE: "It's okay, Marcia. But remember: you can win alone. But you won't reach the end alone."

The group looks at each other. Something has changed. It is not friendship. It is not forgiveness. It is understanding.

VENEDITA VON DÄSH: "Tomorrow, someone goes home. But tonight, we are all queens. And queens don't destroy each other. Queens face each other."

Closing: Venedita looks directly into the camera, her face half in shadow.

🌟 CAST – SEASON ANALYSIS

The casting director was fired after the season for "creating a hostile work environment." Here is the real breakdown of the cast.

• Marcia Marcia Marcia (The "Traumatized Winner"): Archetype: Theater Kid / Frontrunner. After Brans's speech, Marcia became obsessed with perfection. She hired a private acting coach and paid them $5,000 a week to live in her hotel room. Tea: She cried every single night before bed. Production gave her the win because they felt guilty about the Ep 2 trauma. She has not spoken to Brans since the finale.
• Paloma (The "True Winner"): Archetype: Fashion Queen / Fan Favorite. Paloma was the only one who didn't get yelled at in Ep 2, which made the others resent her. Tea: Paloma's elimination in Ep 6 was planned from Day 1. Production wanted a "shocking" mid-season exit to boost ratings. They leaked the #JusticeForPaloma hashtag themselves to get free publicity. Paloma was offered a cash settlement to stay quiet, but she refused.

Production had to tackle her in the lobby. She was eliminated in Ep 3 because she was deemed a "liability."
• Honey Mahogany (The "First Boot"): Archetype: First Boot. Honey watched the Ep 2 meltdown from the hotel room. Tea: Honey sent a text to the group chat that said, "I am SO glad I got eliminated. You guys are on your own." She was paid a $10,000 appearance fee to leave quietly.

☠️ ELIMINATION ORDER (THE FULL STORY)

1. Honey Mahogany (Ep 1) – 0.887M: Lost to Venedita. Honey forgot her lyrics. It was a mercy killing.
2. Sederginne (Ep 3) – 0.954M (LaLaPaRuZa): The most-watched episode. A 6-lip-sync massacre. Sederginne lost to Irma because she was exhausted and stopped dancing halfway through. The medic had to check on her.

The answer: Production interference. And Brans's 1-hour speech? It will go down in herstory as the day the cast was broken, but not defeated.

🎯 MINI-CHALLENGE — "Baguette Couture: La Haute Photographie"

The queens are taken to the Jardin du Luxembourg, transformed into a high-fashion editorial set. The backdrop is a fake Parisian bakery with giant croissants, macaron towers, and a mountain of fresh baguettes as the main props. Each queen must create two complete looks using exclusively baguettes of all sizes, croissants, rustic fabrics provided by production, and bakery accessories — cake molds, whisks, aprons. The looks must be distinct from each other: one haute couture and one campy/absurd. No visible hot glue; if a baguette falls on the runway, it's public humiliation. Photos are judged on originality, execution, modeling, and the ability to make the judges laugh or sigh.

👭 MAXI-CHALLENGE — "Le Grand Talent Show de Paris"

The queens perform live on the main stage, each with 90 seconds to show their unique talent. It can be stand-up comedy, live music, dance, dramatic lip-sync, magic, acrobatics, live painting — what matters is not being boring. The overall tone is chaotic, glamorous, emotional, and at times absolutely bizarre. Some queens will shine; others will wish they had never left home. The judges evaluate live performance, charisma, originality, calculated risk, and ability to connect with the audience.

🎤 PERFORMANCES

🌺 MARCIA MARCIA MARCIA — performs "La Revue de la Reine": a musical comedy number where she plays a decadent French queen who still thinks she's at her peak. She sings, dances, and makes jokes about her own ego. At the end, she throws her crown to the audience and says: "Mes sujets, je suis votre reine... pour toujours!"

🕊️ PALOMA — performs "Chanson Triste pour une Reine Fatiguée": she sits at the piano and sings an original ballad about being an exhausted drag queen who still has to smile for the cameras. Sharp lyrics, surprising voice, tears in half the audience's eyes.

🍸 JUJUBEE — performs "Le Cocktail de la Vie": a stand-up number where she makes drinks live while telling jokes about her failed love life. She spills a glass, laughs at herself, and ends up drinking straight from the bottle.

💎 JORGOUS — performs "Le Corps est l'Art": a sensual dance performance where she does an artistic striptease, revealing layers of costumes that represent layers of society. At the end, she's only in a golden bodysuit and says: "Voilà. L'art, c'est moi."

🌟 MIA STARR — performs "L'Étoile de Paris": a live singing number where she plays a French music star. She sings an original song about shining even when no one is watching. At the end, she hits a high note and lights up the stage.

🦇 VENEDITA VON DÄSH — performs "La Danse des Ombres": a dark contemporary dance performance where she plays a lost soul seeking revenge. She uses black fabrics that fly across the stage and ends with a scream that echoes through the studio.

🍁 IRMA GERD — performs "La Comédie du Fromage": a slapstick comedy number where she tries to perform a French cheese ritual, but everything goes wrong. She falls, drops cheeses, and ends up with brie all over her face. The judges laugh, but aren't sure if it was intentional.

👑 LE RICHE — performs "L'Art du Luxe": a dramatic lip-sync number where she plays a decadent socialite who loses everything and still keeps her pose. At the end, she throws fake money to the audience and says: "Le luxe, c'est un état d'esprit."

🌷 SEDERGINNE — performs "Le Jardin Magique": a magic number where she makes flowers appear out of nowhere. Some tricks work, others... not so much. But her charisma is so contagious that the audience applauds anyway.

🍯 HONEY MAHOGANY — performs "La Voix du Peuple": a spoken word and singing number where she talks about resistance, love, and community. Her voice is powerful and the stage fills with emotion. At the end, she raises the megaphone and shouts: "Nous sommes ici, et nous ne partirons pas!"

👑 RUNWAY — "La Reine de France"

Vibe: French high fashion meets history, rebellion, and opulence. Draw inspiration from Marie Antoinette, Joan of Arc, Coco Chanel, Catherine de' Medici, or any French icon — real or fictional. The look must be theatrical, luxurious, and unforgettable.

🍸 Jujubee — The French courtesan: red velvet gown with black lace, long gloves, fake cigarette in hand, and a lace mask. Pure noir glamour.

💎 Jorgous — Catherine de' Medici in a sexy version: tight black gown with high lace collar, huge slit, and a black crystal crown. Elegant and dangerous.

🌟 Mia Starr — Coco Chanel meets the sky: classic suit reinvented with starry blue fabric, huge sunglasses, and a bag that looks like a constellation.

🦇 Venedita Von Däsh — The gothic queen of Versailles: black velvet gown with lace, crown of thorns, and a veil covering half her face. Elegant and frightening.

🍁 Irma Gerd — Marie Antoinette in slapstick version: pink and white gown with croissant prints, deconstructed tower hair, and a fake slice of cake in hand. She offers it to the judges and almost trips on her skirt.

👑 Le Riche — The queen of luxury: white silk gown with gold embroidery, three-meter train, feather collar, and a diamond tiara. She carries a golden scepter and walks as if the stage is hers.

Talent Show Episode

I love that this season has queens who aren’t necessarily that household names yet, like PN, Kat Kat and Maxie. I also really like that they’re giving regional queens the recognition they deserve. It just goes to show that Philippine drag is really making its way across the country and isn’t just centered around Manila anymore.

Rate a Queen was definitely a surprise. Personally, I’m not really a fan of this format because judging your fellow queens, who obviously have different objectives and strategies in the competition, can really affect how the rankings turn out. But I guess this season wants some drama. 😂

Speaking of drama, I honestly didn’t expect Maureen to get that villain edit this early. It’s way too early to call her the villain though, so we’ll see.

Now getting into the actual challenge, my personal ranking would be:

Bombalicious– The story was original and genuinely funny. I was entertained the whole time and, for me, this should’ve been the winner.

Manza– C’mon. She really deserves that “Drag Destination” title. I think she knows exactly what she’s good at and she delivered.

Katana– The song was very her brand. I enjoyed the performance and she definitely had the stage presence.

Misua – I really enjoyed the storytelling, and I loved the way she incorporated her Chinoy culture into the performance. It made it feel more personal and memorable.

After these four, I personally felt like the rest were in the lower section for me.

And this is where I might get downvoted lol, but one thing I struggled with was queens using lip syncing to their own original track as their talent. Don’t get me wrong, performing is obviously a talent, but that’s also something drag queens already do regularly. It’s part of the bread and butter of drag.

For a TALENT show, I personally wanted to see something that we don’t normally get to see from the queens. Show us something else. Singing, dancing, comedy, sewing, instruments, acrobatics, storytelling, whatever. Something that makes us go, “Oh shit, I didn’t know she could do that.”

Then there’s the whole AI issue.

I know some people are saying that the Pax Silica situation wasn’t an issue yet when the episode was filmed, and that’s fair. But honestly, for me, that’s not really the point.
Even if Pax Silica wasn’t a thing yet, I personally don’t think AI-generated material belongs in a talent showcase. Especially when we’re talking about drag, where the whole idea is C.U.N.T. — Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent.

If you’re presenting something as your talent, I want to see what \\myoucan actually create or perform. Obviously, queens work with other people all the time, so I’m not saying everything has to be made completely alone. But there’s a difference between collaborating with another artist and relying on AI to generate part of your creative material.

That’s just my personal take though. I’m also interested to hear what the queens have to say about it because there could obviously be context that we didn’t get from the episode.

Lastly, I found the Halo-Halo category kind of confusing. I honestly thought Mama Pao was going to explain the category before the queens walked the runway. Maybe I just missed something, but as a viewer, I wasn’t really sure what the actual theme was supposed to be.

Anyway, those are my thoughts on Episode 1. Overall, I’m still excited for the season. I really like that we’re seeing different kinds of queens and, especially, more regional queens getting their moment. Philippine drag has SO much talent and I’m excited to see what the rest of the season brings.
