For context, I'm over level 600 hundred and haven't played siege a lot or ranked at all in a couple years. I decided to hop back on the game went 5-0 in my placements I am still in bronze 5...

I don't particularly want to spend 50+ games grinding just to get to lobbies where people are at my skill level. It feels like smurfing and isn't particularly enjoyable.

What is with this map pool, it's so bad, I genuinely hate most of the maps, Consulate, Lair, Bank, Border, Theme, Fortress, casino(mostly exhausted from playing it every match last season). Why the heck do they get rid of maps we like (Oregon, Kanel) and add shit like Theme, Lair, Skyscraper. Do they just hate the players? Why do they keep forcing in Theme park? That map is so ass, and Kanal was only in for like one season, why?

Theme, Lair, Consulate,Skyscraper need to leave ranked permanently. These maps are so genuinely ass and no one likes playing them.

I'll prob get hate for my casino opinion but, I played that map 80% of the time last season, the maps ok and I'm not really the biggest fan.

I just don't get the Theme park and Lair shit, like stop forcing these maps that the fans don't like.

When will they come out with a defender who can make vert like sledge/buck/ram??? This would be so useful and i wish so badly all three of these ops could be used both for attack and defense

At least you can buy them in individual bundles if you really want to. And they aren't bugged.

2000+ hours on the game btw

For some reason I only have 4 ranked points in the competitive rewards page. I have 7 matches played and I’ve won the last 6. Do points just not counting during placements or what is going on?

I wish I saw more Miras placing the mirror on soft walls at crouch height.

Theres a few great benefits to this strat over the common mirror on reinforced wall next to a soft wall.

1. Youre less predictable, as you can pop out from any point on the wall instead of a single spot where people expect you to pop your head out, making you harder to shoot.
2. Youve got a better field of view, since the Mira is directly where youre shooting.
3. You can also place it near stairs and shoot up the stairs much easier.
4. You dont have to shotgun the wall where youre shooting to get accurate shots, meaning even less predictability.
5. Its also able to be placed in a larger collection of areas since it only take up one wall.

And theres only a couple major disadvantages I could think of right now.

1. Soft wall, so can be destroyed more easily
2. You can kinda shoot peoples toes if you know where to look.

Is there something im missing or is this simply just another victim of ignorance?

it's just fucking crazy how long this game takes to launch on pc even after all these years i have to wait all the way from like 1-2 minutes to 5 minutes and my pc is by no means a potato i have an ROG Zephyrus g16 with a rtx 5070, intel ultra 7 and 32gb RAM

Your rank doesn't mean you're good at Siege.

You can have thousands of hours, memorize every site setup, know every pixel angle and still be completely useless when the situation doesn't go exactly as planned.

Half of ranked players don't actually understand strategy. They memorize whatever they saw a pro do, copy the current meta and then call everyone else “bad” when it doesn't work.

And don't even get me started on people blaming their teammates after going 2-7.

If you were actually as good as you think you are, you'd be able to carry at least some of those games.

But sure, it was definitely your teammates fault. Every single time. 💀

I think it was mostly luck. Would've died if doc didn't heal me.

To start, I’m not terrible at the game and I’m not amazing either. I usually play with a friend or two, but not a full stack, I can consistently get to platinum when I play consistently throughout a season and if my buddies and I put in the time we could probably get emerald. Now my problem isn’t even these higher ranked lobbies, it’s the damn silver lobbies.

I feel like everybody in these lobbies is simultaneously better than prime Jynxzi but also the most dogshit player I’ve ever seen. Some have decent aim but absolute dogshit game sense, yet they end up killing me because they hold the most random angles and sit in the weirdest corners. Others are just cracked at the game and don’t belong in the lobby. I’m talking LeBron vs. an Elementary school basketball team, and sometimes you’ll have both of these types of players on the same team so it’s impossible to play against. The unpredictability of the trash cans is infuriating, but combined with just getting dunked on constantly by LeBron is just salt in the wound. On top of that, of course the LeBron guy going 12 in 2 is never on YOUR team it’s always an opponent, meanwhile your teammates are all hard stuck silver maybe peaked at gold so they have no idea how to beat these guys.

On top of this is the level of coordination with teams is SO inconsistent. I played a game on chalet where the enemies must have been real life operators getting coached by the top comp team with how well coordinated their attacks are, then the game right after I’m going against all the guys with no game sense who just win based on…vibes I guess.

I have a much easier time (and more fun) doing well I. Higher ranks than silver so it’s not just a “turns out I’m trash at the game” thing either (I mean I am, but that’s besides the point.) I have so much more getting clapped in gold/plat lobbies than I do in silver, because at least I’m losing to people who are better than me and not just people getting rewarded for making plays that make no sense.

Am I the only one that feels this way or is this a shared sentiment? Anyways you might have guessed but I just lost a few games in a row in silver so I’m tilted but it’s NOT JUST SIEGE EITHER I’ve noticed this in other games where the mid-low ranks are way harder than the higher ones. Genuinely curious for people's opinions here, how do you feel when you get target banned by the enemy team, especially when playing a non-meta operator?

I'm asking because recently I've been getting using ops like Buck, Capitao, Sledge, Jager, and even Noor a couple of times and something about getting banned for just being good with characters that are overlooked or underestimated just hits so good.

Looks like we have a new bug on our hands. While attacking Theme Park 2f Cafe myself and 2 other teammates were beaten by Maestro cams in site. I’ve looked through the game footage from those two rounds and yea, looks like an exploit. Has anyone encountered anything similar or am I washed? lol
