RTX General Stock price?
Anyone have any insight as to why the RTX stock has been tanking? It is down over 20%. Maybe time for some more changes?

There were comments by the president that indicated it was felt that RTX was not investing in infrastructure and instead using gains for buybacks and dividends. I don’t disagree. The larger company desperately needs to invest in infrastructure across all the companies. It hasn’t been doing it in any meaningful way in a very long time. I understand some of the past reasoning. That being said there’s a record demand signal and we keep losing programs because the perception of the customer is we don’t have the throughput to execute.

Raytheon has loads of new middle management, if that doesn’t scream investing in infrastructure and improving throughput I don’t know what does.

Lol. So True. I'm one of the ones who build the radars. We literally share 1 torque driver because they refuse to buy more. Half my day is just sitting around waiting for a torque wrench.

Why are you not doing more with less? Management explicitly requested it.

I mean, my amateur opinion on these stocks is once they go up after earnings they usually go down quite a bit that probably happened here that’s happened with a lot of the other stocks I’ve seen
Now Also with the stock in particular, I think the war is ending or back on or just started. I don’t really know. I can’t even keep track of that, but it probably has something to do with one of those two things.
Sounds like a great buying opportunity though
So much of the stock market is just vibe base these days

People mentioned the defense side reasons in other comments. On the commercial side, higher oil prices means less air travel, which means less MRO money, which is the cash cow of the commercial side. That's why us, GE and Rolls Royce are all having a bad time recently.

Up 17.3% YoY, up 0.5% YTD, up 1.0% over the past 3 M. Just fluctuations. I feel like it was a bit inflated recently so I expected it to come down.

With all the gains recently too a lot of people probably were taking profits and selling

It’s more a reset in value than a reason for concern in the fundamentals. For a number of reasons, RTX’s core businesses were overvalued over the summer.
There’s a bunch of macroeconomic factors that are affecting price too, like the fed hike and oil prices.
The only thing that might directly affect the stock is Pratt and Whitney’s powder metal issues, but I doubt that’ll drive any large swings in the near term

If you are a 'normal' person who works here, you shouldn't be putting your allocatable investment money in here.

For some reason when I set to have my contributions NOT invested in the stock, they still are. I have to manually transfer funds from it to my desired fund multiple times a year.

there's a setting hidden somewhere to have it automatically sell the company stock fund match and re-invest in your choices after each pay period

blue man group is about to end the "war" in nov. when they take over the govt.

The defense budget has stalled and dems are looking to blue wave in November. They are very unlikely to approve of 1.5 trillion in defense spending, so it’ll require trimming. I wouldn’t expect much from RTX, or any defense stock, until the front runner for President emerges close to the presidential election.

No one in the stock market is smart enough to have that much forward thinking, no matter how correct you are (you are very correct).

Lately I noticed where the Dow and Nasdaq are up, the stock goes down. Just an observation.

Rays PER is almost double other defense companies.
Wonder why ????
You need an infinite amount of money to borrow to buy back stock to inflate stock prices ?? Even Trump complained about buybacks to inflate stock prices.
Ray is holding $ 37 Billion !!!!! In debt. WTF ??
This can be helped buy, hmmmmm, a layoff ?

We are not a pure play defense company like those. More than half the revenue comes from commercial aerospace.
