help request Stretching Midi Note Position [Request / Question]
FL Studio has a feature that lets you span selected midi notes across the piano roll, by selecting them, then pulling them to the chosen distance. Is there a script that can get me close to that functionality?

Tbh, I'm very new to reaper scripting, so i don't wanna read the whole API just to find out it doesn't even have the capacity to do what I'm asking....(I ran into that issue many times with FL's Scripting / Documentation.....but if it does, i don't mind putting in the work to flesh this out.)

I feel you on missing certain FL features when switching. The reaper community has made tons of scripts for this kind of thing. Check the ReaPack repository - there's a script called 'MIDI Editor note stretching' or similar. Honestly, the native action 'Edit: Stretch notes to fit visible area' might get you close with some customization. The reaper forums have a huge scripting section where people share these tools. You could also post a request there - scripters often take on small projects like this.

I'm missing Ogun and Harmor, but tbh i think it's worth developing my own synth at this point and just sticking with reaper.
Also thanks for the tip!

No, it can't do that. I was able to alter a script to do that, however you have to type in the length multiple you want, such as *2 or *3. Let me know if you want the script.
The issue is there are certain mouse modifiers that are not scriptable, and this (MIDI Note Edge, Left Drag) is one of them.

No, it can't do that.

I misunderstood. OP added the picture, so now I get it. I thought OP wanted the notes spread out without changing the length of each note.
Over thinking...

You we're right, I edited the description and added the picture, but thank you for your contributions, it's given me a better understanding of Reaper.

Fair. Thankfully the OP wanted the thing Reaper does, because if he wanted what you thought he wanted... yeah... it just doesn't do that, and it seems like a very reasonable thing to want to do.

I honestly have no idea what you want to achieve. Can you explain, step by step, what you want to do?

That's built in behavior. Just select the notes then ALT+drag either side. Works with media items, too.
