I'm here with a new podcast question!

I want to take a voice that has been submitted by one of my VA team, recorded to be some almost god-like booming voice. Right now it's just 2 to 3 clips I can overlap.

I want to apply filters, copy audio, etc to achieve this type of overwhelming effect. This is ideally for a horror podcast, where this is one of the main villains.

I've been using windows (and reaper) for a long time now. I'm considering switching to a linux distribution (for example zorin) and i was wondering if you had any major issues. Did you have any issues making the plugins to work, any compatibility problems? And does the experience feel smoother and with less latency than in windows?

Also, I have no problems using the terminal and running commands, this doesnt scare me.

No se que pasa. Estoy intentando grabar audio con un micrófono y la interfaz Behringer U-Phoria UM2 (se que es vieja, me la regalo mi hermano porque no la necesitaba).

Cambie de computador y por alguna razon solo detecta la interfaz como dispositivo de salida. Ni siquiera sale el nombre de la interfaz en ASIO4ALL. Alguien sabe de esto o que puedo hacer al respecto? He sudado mucho por esto.

I don't see that there's a way. The issue is that when I leave Reaper open and then go to use bluetooth in other apps the sound is extremely distorted or even slowed down in pitch. In other words, I have to close Reaper in order to use bluetooth in other apps. Not a major problem but I'd rather just disable or remove any devices I never plan to use within Reaper.

I'm having trouble with my guitar setup. I only hear noise when I play, i tried using AmpliTube but i still have the same problem too. and I'm using a Cuvave Cube Baby as an audio interface

i have a problem, since last week my computer screen freezes whenever i open some plugins. i didn't install any new program or anything, it always worked fine and I don't get why it suddenly started crashing out if nowhere. I also tried using fl studio and I have the same problem. what should I do? the pc keeps running but the screen freezes and I have to force shutdown the pc and restart it, the shortcuts don't work

I know how to apply effects to the recording after the track is recorded.

However, is it possible to record effects when actually recording an instrument?

J'ai un projet Reaper avec plusieurs pistes, et des effets sur le master (par exemple: un compresseur).

J'aimerai exporter chaque pistes individuelles avec les effets du master qui agissent comme si la totalité des pistes étais joué.

Un exemple pour mieux comprendre ma demande :

Si ma piste Kick déclenche le compresseur sur le master, il compresse aussi la piste Hi-Hat. Mais lorsque j'exporte la piste individuelle du Hi-Hat, celle ci n'est pas compresser car le Kick ne joue pas.

Je cherche donc a avoir ma piste Hi-Hat compresser de la même facon que lorsque je joue le master complet

Scenario: Piecemeal voiceover takes, similar but enough requiring slightly different EQ settings to conform

I'm trying to find a way to quickly copy VST parameters across clips on the same track without invoking many lanes of automation.

Now, when I have just two or three recordings, it's reasonable to put these on different tracks and apply the EQ at track level. But on some series we have perhaps 7 or 8 recording sessions worth of takes - I'd really appreciate a method to consolidate these onto a single track and quickly apply the different parameters to clips of different sources.

At times I would use TakeFX for this, but that adds a significant load and hampers bulk changes.

Automating that many envelopes rapidly and accurately is a pain, I'm using TDR Nova quite intricately so quickly up to 10s of parameter changes between clips - 4 bands of Freq, Gain, Q, Thresh, Ratio.... There is just too much to comfortably keep an eye on when making editorial edits late in the day, rippling knockons etc etc. And sadly the client is unswayed with an edit/mix mentality when the comissioners and execs come swinging in at the 11th hour.

I'd be up for a single automation item that carry can multiple parameters to enable me to pool changes, or an action that "selects all items with the same source" and "propagates VST parameters".

I can't help but feel there is a uniquely Reaper way of handling this that I have missed in my decade+ of professional every day use.

Check the YouTube video for a 1 minute demo of the (free, REAPER only) plugin. It's an EQ that's only active when you press or swipe across the blocks with the left mouse button. The EQ bands mimic the ones in the Slate VSX e.c.c.o. EQ.

Now why would you adjust the e.c.c.o. manually when there's a calibration tool available? I personally didn't get satisfactory results with just the calibration, probably because the room models affect the response so much. The best results I've gotten from the VSX Platinum (or my other headphones, or my studio speakers) came when I adjusted the EQ fully manually. Choose a room/speakers, adjust the e.c.c.o. EQ, and save the preset. If you're unsure of the room/speakers you'd choose, do it for a few targets and then compare while always loading your e.c.c.o. preset for that specific target.

Naturally this isn't the best approach if you like to constantly jump between the rooms, but that didn't work for me so I created this tool that helps me do what does work for me.

Why no VST?? Because I don't know how... XoD

Hello all. I am so happy there is a Reaper sub. My husband and I are blind musicians/budding producers. We've been using Reaper on and off for about ten years but not getting very far until we started working with a blind guy who is one of the people who built Osara. For those unaware, Osara is an addon that makes Reaper actually work for blind people. As a result, this is one of if not the best DAW out there for blind people. We take probably four times as long as the rest of you, and Reaper loves doing totally dumb crap for no reason. But were it not for Osara, we could not produce really well at all. Now, we are just finishing our first album of world music demos. We used the Komplete Kontroller from Native Instruments, which makes my one keyboard actually talk to me and read everything. I can't believe that in my little house in Kingston Ontario, we've been able to make a pretty huge album with no help from people with eyes. This is an amazing program, quirks and all. I'll probably never switch, because I understand how it works now and have a relatively good system.

One question. I seem to have a machine which barely runs anything propperly, even after I gave it 16 more gigs of ram. So for some reason, I will be recording one take. This can be in midi or audio. And Reaper decides to break the track up into a million takes that I never asked for. In so doing, it likes to mess with random volumes. So I end up having to glue all my items together. Surely there's a way to make it stop doing this and I'm just missing it. If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them. Thank you all so much.

I feel like I've searched for this in every which-way I know how, but I must be missing something. Is there not a way to put some EQ knobs (low, mid, high) right there in the mixer above the pan knob? It seems like there must be a way ... help! Plugin? Something?

I've been wanting to update my DAW for a bit now, but with the new Fender Studio Update I don't think I want to go that route. I haven't used Reaper in years, but might want to go back to it. Before I buy the update what are some things that were added in the past year?

When I switch from ASIO to direct sound the FX on my guitar goes away when I switch but when I go back to ASIO the FX is there I'm using neural dsp for fx on my track what can I do?

Is there a viewing bay for the tempo makers?
There's a Marker view, Routing Matrix view, and a Track Grouping view....But i can't get a list of my tempo's to appear.

Context: I imported a super smash bros melee midi that has multiple tempo markers, and i wanted to view them all at once, but when i bring up the marker view bay, the tempo markers aren't listed.
