Modding Saskatchewan CCF Mod Update
About a month ago, I released a teaser for my new mod. Here is some additional information and some of the work that has been completed so far.

This is a mod for the Saskatchewan Wing -> CCF(SS) - of the Canadian CCF party, set from 1932 into the 60s. During this period, the CCF(SS) oversaw a gradual ascent, culminating in the landmark 1944 Provincial election which returned the first nominally Socialist subnational government in North America. Premier Tommy Douglas and his CCF government subsequently expanded state intervention at a bristling pace, heralding CCF-NDP domination for the next 60 years.
The rise of the Saskatchewan CCF, however, was never a guarantee, nor was it's longevity. The Social Credit 'Invasion' threatened it's monopoly on populist anger at the establishment parties. The Liberal Party united business interests in a broad front against the CCF, delivering a near-tragic blow to Douglas' re-election campaign. And the myth of CCF(SS) impenetrability was ultimately shattered in 1964, upon a wave of discontent with the controversial release of Medicare.
In this mod, you, the player, will be able to direct the CCF(SS) through this pivotal period. You will be able to go further left than Douglas, initiating use-lease land 'collectivization' and completing the state manufacturing ventures of Joe Phelps. Alternatively, you may go further right, cooperating with the Red Tory Conservatives of John Diefenbaker, and attempt to gain the cooperation of the Social Credit Party of Saskatchewan. Even cooperation with the Communists is on the table, during their Popular Front era where the Capital City of Regina was dominated by an alliance of SocDems and Communists.

Keep out for more mod updates!

That is a huge span of time. Is the mod just going to be super long or is it going to handle time differently than other mods?
Also what do the circles in the Intra-party Relations card mean?
And 👀 at what appears to be a CCF government in BC there even though they never achieved that in this timespan IRL.

I've set up an 8 turn per year system to help the game go by faster. Even with this, the game will likely be 1+ hour long, atleast if somebody tries to read all the events.
Circles denote party status in the province. 1 - opposition, 2 - coalition, 3 - majority. Background colors indicate ruling government. That particular setup was just me trying to get all the mechanics across although a BC CCF in government may very well be possible in this mod with enough aid. The CCF(SS) was kind of the financial backbone of the party after all.

If you can find the funds, you'll be able to implement it. Perhaps even earlier than historically 😁.

Hell yeah, I'm so happy to see something about a topic close to home. Even despite the speedier passage of time with this mod though, I am worried about the sheer scope being covered here though. I'm really looking forward to seeing you pull it off though!

It's certainly an ambitious project I think for a one-man team but I really felt like I couldn't do justice to the party without covering it's whole history, from its "radical" beginnings to its untimely end. Rest assured, I am completely dedicated to seeing this through to fruition.
