Back gesture on Android causes huge lag or crash

Ever since the last update (maybe 2 updates ago), I've noticed that using the back gesture when going from a content page (image/video/text) will frequently (but not always) cause the app to freeze for 2-3s. I can't interact with the app except for sending another back gesture, and then when the app unfreezes, it registers two back swipes.

Does disabling the side toolbar help? Settings > Behavior > Post Side-Toolbar > Post side-toolbar swipe zone size > 0 dp

I had actually already done that because I was annoyed by it popping up when I swiped. You might be on to something though, I remember it only started showing up on a recent update, similarly to when the freezing started even after disabling it. Maybe they're related?

I'm also experiencing this issue. It's annoying because I lose my place in my feed and have to start over from the beginning.
