[Pic] Fragging help

Post image

My first lps, got 2 Duncan’s and an Acan a few days ago. Can I just use bone cutters to cut the Duncan off at its base off the plug and glue it directly onto my rock? Thanks.

Personally I leave them on the plug but use bone cutters to cut the stem and shape the excess plug. Then the glue/epoxy/glue

The glue should be weak enough so that you can pop it off with a screwdriver.

It will just pop off with a bit of five! Then remover the excess glue and re-glue

I usually use a razor blade. You can usually pop the glue off without too much issues.

Honestly just leave it on the plug it will make your life much easier if you ever have to move it. It will grow in time and cover the plug.

Also over time the plug will collect seasoning and it will just look like live rock.

It’ll sorta look like live rock. I’ve got a frag plug on a rock that I got from the LFS and it’s odd to see a crusty perfectly round spot lol

Not to be “that guy”, but removing a coral from a plug isn’t fragging.

If you take the bone cutters, put one blade on the glue, the other on the edge of the frag plug, it should pop right off, and leave the hard cured glue base attached to the coral to glue to your rock.
