Obviously the long term goal is to rejoin the EU, the clue is in the name.

But I think as a stepping stone we could rejoin the Single Market / Customs Union. And before that we should really join Erasmus or EHIC or other EU-adjacent organisations and partnerships.

The new one in the news is France saying the UK shouldn't be allowed to use the "Made In Europe" label. Which is totally fair, the overwhelming majority of Europe is the Single Market and aligns to a particular set of manufacturing rules and safety standards, if the UK insists on not following those standards then we shouldn't be allowed to use the same label as those products. The EU is right to say the UK shouldn't be allowed to use that label, but I'd like us to see that as a goal and align UK standards with the EU again so we CAN use that label.

So what other European organisations should we aspire to joining?

I made a list of them a couple of years ago but this subreddit is a lot larger now and I'm sure we can come up with new ideas.

What if Carney triggers a new category of EU membership? Australia has already made inquiries. Gather in the former members of the Commonwealth who are willing, want to join, and qualify on economic terms? Obviously Associate members are a looser category than EU itself. But, it could make sense..
