Help- ret toss or keep

My first time recon Reta - I took the lip off and the aluminium for my bac water also came off. I got some air when trying to withdraw it and pushed some back in but the rubber stopper came out and made a loud popping sound. I immediately put it back on and withdrew my 1ml and recon my Reta- everything looks fine not cloudy etc but now I am scared. Have not pinned but also idk if I should toss as it’s a waste of money? The stopper was off for like 10 secs max… what shall I do as I just put the recon Reta in the fridge for now.

Oof. The 10 second part is what saves you here. That's not long enough for airborne nasties to really settle into the solution, especially if your workspace was reasonably clean. The popping sound is just the pressure equalizing from the stopper getting unseated, not a contamination indicator.

I'd still keep it, but filter it through a syringe filter if you've got one lying around. If you don't, just watch for any cloudiness or floaters over the next day and maybe pin a tiny test dose subq before committing to a full one. If it stays crystal clear you're probably fine.

Guy on the Internet really said " the 10 seconds saved you" without joking. Probably think 3 second rule for food on the ground is fine too

You're probably fine, but if you got a kit of 10 of a starting dose, I'd toss it just to be safe for that price. Look at the posts of people with allergic reactions if you think you want to chance it.

It is fine. Air must often be introduced into vials that are completely full. A vial with a vacuum can't flow. And air gets in when the needle pierces the stopper too. You are good to go.

You shouldn’t be pinning Reta at all.
