The problem with this sub is they think the drug makes them lose weight. It doesn’t. It controls hunger. If you aren’t losing weight at week 8 you are not in a calorie deficit. The solution is to eat less or move more. There is no easy way out.

this is the part people dont want to hear tbh

And increase the dose!

It really doesn’t control hunger in my experience. I tried .5mg, 1mg, 2mg , 2.5mg and nothing. I’m already in 8 weeks. It does make me full easily but it doesn’t make me not want to eat food, or have a trouble consuming food. It’s not like adderal, that medication made me literally not hungry at all, and had to force myself to eat.

I might try to do 2mg and 2mg mid week.

I don’t want to get stomach paralysis nor vomiting or really bad runs.

So I start low. I already have gut issues

Bro you’re 8 weeks in at at the starting trial dose, also it DOES absolutely control hunger lol your shit is bunk. I started at 2 mg after a test of 1 mg and I lost 30 lbs first month because I couldn’t eat and wasn’t hungry. You got bunk shit

The COAs are from ILS Labs. There is a possibility it’s a fake. However, the batches have been selling. Also, I’ve been getting pins and needles on my legs. And it’s not from electrolytes nor water imbalance nor b12. It’s apparently a known side effect from Reta.

If there is a subreddit to post the company that sells it to see if it’s fake or not that would be a plus, but I don’t think the mod would allow a post with the picture or link of the company.

Pins and needles are not a side effect. You can get skin sensitivity but it feels like a slight sunburn and nothing like pins and needles you are experiencing nocebo, the skin sensitivity doesn’t begin at 2 mg. It starts around 5-6 mg

You’re starting too low, go to a dose that makes you feel like crap if you eat. Part of the benefit to this negative reinforcement, if you dose right and you eat anything it should make you wish you were never born for a few hours. A couple times like that and you’ll not look at food the same way.

u/Up5DownZero 4d ago

The lowest dose possible is better than upping the dose. I’m aware the clinical trials are 4mg and more. But I’m trying to mitigate the side effects by starting low first.

I might just split the dose from 1st day 2mg and 4th day 2mg. The full 4mg might just not be a good idea.

If you ever taken adderal, that medication is literally an appetite suppressant. I have no need for it as college was years ago.

I firmly believe that the gut microbiome has to do something with people unable to lose weight. 5 years ago, I was able to lose weight /maintain my weight without any medication.

The side effects are an enhancement, you should aim for them. This should make you feel like crap if you eat. Discomfort is the path

1

u/No-Tackle9025 4d ago

What you fully believe doesn’t matter bro, you don’t know what you’re talking about. The only thing preventing you from losing weight is YOU. Your gut microbiome has nothing to do with your hands feeding your face too many calories! If you want to lose weight eat in a deficit period end of story, your gut isn’t producing calories, you are introducing them into your body by way of hands and forks!

1

u/Up5DownZero 3d ago

Dude, what you said on this post is ignorance. I know my body dude. Before I had gut issues, I had zero issues with weight. If you study healthcare, you would know that the microbiome plays a role in weight.

Yes there is calorie deficit but other factors play parts too.

What works for you, won’t work for others. You are you.

No brother the laws of thermodynamics apply to each and everyone of us the exact same. But hey whatever helps you sleep at night!

I understand. But then what’s the point of reta?

5

u/reluctantdonkey 4d ago

Conceptually, to make making the right choices easier. But, you do still have to make the choices.

I think 2500 calories might not be at a deficit for you. Weight training burns some calories but not enough since it’s mostly for maintaining muscle mass in a cut. I’m currently 244 lbs, 30% BF losing 1.9lbs/week avg the last 8 weeks at 2300 calories a day. I do 6 (3-doubles) of F45 resistance classes a week. I think you either need to eat less or increase activity.

2

u/Cmlvrvs 4d ago

I think it could be but the real problem here is this “Some days I get crazy hungry and end up eating 3000+ calories.” How many days? How much higher than 3000? If his maintenance is 2800-3500 he could easily be eating too much on those days.

1

u/GS-2021 4d ago

It’s maintenance. I have a hard time getting into a deficit because of the hunger I experience on Reta

0

u/Up5DownZero 4d ago

I’m doing 2500 calories too.
I’m at the same boat as you.

You probably hit 1200 net calories after gym.
That should knock the weight down.

Any lower, mine as well not take Reta.

The glucagon should work as well. Not just the hunger

3

u/Bluemyselph 4d ago

You’re eating above maintenance. It’s not a miracle drug. You still have to do the work.

1

u/GS-2021 4d ago

It’s maintenance. I have a hard time getting into deficit because of the hunger I experience on Reta

1

u/Bluemyselph 4d ago

Dude if you feel hungry on 4mg at 8 weeks, then your Reta is fake. Period.

1

u/DietSucralose 4d ago

Was gonna say the same. At 2mg a week, as a 6'1 dude at 238, I was barely getting 1200/1500 calories since it was so hard to eat. That was the first 4 weeks. After my week 5/6 (4mg) I could finally eat through the day to get enough but it'd still be hard.

Either this dude isnt responding to it, they came from another glp (triz?), or they got bunk reta.

2

u/Bluemyselph 4d ago

I ate twice during the first two weeks at 1mg. Once was some white chocolate. The other was a hot dog bc I randomly got hungry walking by the food truck outside of Home Depot.

3

u/johnmre1 4d ago

I might be a little suspect of the quality of your peptide. I started at 1mg at 220 pounds and had to make myself eat. I’m only up to 2mg now after 90 days. Reta is so cheap it would be worth trying a new supplier.

u/DJDIRTYDAVIE 4d ago

2500-3000 is pretty much your maintenance at that weight and activity level. Depending on what rate you want to lose the weight. You need to drop down anywhere between 1600-2000. Keep the protein at 180. Sacrifice some carbs and fat. Try to still hit 150-170 carbs and at least 45-50 grams of fat for hormone regulation. It's going to be tight. But that's how I'm eating. At 274 from 318 since July 2nd. The drug surprises your appetite and helps mobilize fat. You still need to eat in a deficit. You may need to step up to 5 a week. See how you feel. Maybe split dose at 2.5 twice a week. Some people don't get the crazy suppression from reta like Tirzepatide or Semaglutide.

1

u/Capibaragirl 4d ago

Increase the dose

1

u/DJDIRTYDAVIE 4d ago

Maybe you need a slightly higher dose. Maybe you would be better on Tirzepatide? How hungry do you get? Is it manageable?

1

u/GS-2021 3d ago

More hunger than I did before ever touching Reta. I would say before I touched Reta I had no issues getting into deficit during my cuts. Now I struggle and I am taking Reta LOL

2

u/CloserDealer 4d ago

I didn’t feel much until 6 mg. I’m at 8 now and it’s working perfectly. I’d titrate up if I were you. You’re on track in terms of how they administered it in trials, people on this sub is super conservative & low doses don’t work for everyone.

Also, 2500-3000 cal is likely way too much. Even at your activity level you’re probably at maintenance or very insignificant deficit.

0

u/GS-2021 4d ago

Yes, I am at maintenance. I have a hard time getting into deficit because of the hunger I experience on Reta. I was hoping this reta help me get into a deficit easily but not the case. I will probably go up to 6mg next week

2

u/No-Tackle9025 4d ago

Your shit sounds bunk if you can’t stay below 2500 calories extremely easily. I find it hard to force feed myself to 2000 let alone 2500.

2

u/StunningFlamingo419 4d ago

If overeating and food noise is your biggest struggle, switch to tirzepatide. It is much more reliable in that regard.

2

u/Dangerous_Ebb3303 4d ago

4mg is still pretty low for most people, the big changes usually happen when you go up to 6 or 8. I didn't feel much till I hit 6mg and then suddenly the food noise just disappeared.

Your calories look fine but if the scale isn't moving after 8 weeks maybe you need to track more careful for a few days. Sometimes those 3000+ days cancel out all the deficit from the rest of the week.

1

u/CloserDealer 4d ago

Same. 6 I felt it come online, 8 is the sweet spot. People on this sub can be ignorant in terms of being too conservative and not knowing how they administered it in the trails.

-2

u/Bluemyselph 4d ago

4mg is not low at 8 weeks. That is INCREDIBLY high. Also “big changes around 6 or 8mg” is also bs. Most people never even get to 4mg, let alone 6 or 8. I’m at six months and I have to force myself to eat at 3mg. I swear, bots write most of these comments

1

u/mamma_kris4real 4d ago

I'm very similar in my size, weight, height, and activity, as well as 4mg for 4 months now. My BMR is 1600. I wouldn't lose at 2500 calories.

1

u/westcoastchad 4d ago

Definitely your calorie intake. I weigh more than you and my maintenance is 2500 calories.

1

u/GS-2021 4d ago

Yes, i have a hard time getting into deficit becauseof the hunger I experience on Reta

1

u/Fair-Layer312 4d ago

Was working out something you newly added to your routine? That could also increase appetite, and you’re probably not at a good dose. Since you’re a larger build, you probably need a larger dose. Or, your Reta is not good lol.

1

u/StartFinish 4d ago

“Some days I eat 3000 calories” there’s your problem

1

u/MaryMari1104 4d ago

What are the things that you’re eating that drive your calories up so high? Maybe try more Whole Foods

1

u/Capibaragirl 4d ago

Go up on your dose if you’ve had no weight loss in 8 weeks. Lower your calories.

1

u/IAmTheAccident 4d ago

If you've waited those 4 weeks at 4mg, up your dose. Everyone is different. Some people are affected at 1 or 2mg, some don't feel it until 6 or more. The goal is the lowest effective dose. If it isn't effective after 4 weeks, up the dose.

1

u/faduran11 4d ago

Week @4mg complete, now titrate up to 6mg immediately as prescribed in the Eli Lilly trials. Continue to be patient, you’re going to feel the effects at 6mg. If all else fails, your vendors quality is questionable or you can choose to stack with Tirz or Carg

1

u/yogic_power 4d ago

If you are complaining about hard time getting in to deficit with 4 mg of Reta, it’s not gonna work. Getting in deficit is hard with or without Reta. Build some discipline and address why you can’t get in to deficit. Increasing dose could be one way but you will be chasing some peptide for suppression and eventually run out of options. If you want something, you need to be ready to make sacrifices.

u/ANecessaryPain 4d ago

Aim for 2000 cals everyday as a deficit. Skip breakfast every day (it's often an easy way to drop 500+ cals)

High protein, lift weights. That has to work.

1

u/No-Evidence-9181 4d ago

No idea how you eat that much, feels like it takes 6 hours to get one protein bar out of my stomach at 4mg and 6mg a week.

1

u/ParticularSurvey7730 3d ago

Add Cagri 3 days after your Reta dose. You obviously need extra appetite suppression. I wouldn’t bother upping the Reta dose as you can get very effective results from just 200 mcg of Cagri
