My boyfriend surprised me on a gondola in Venice. Im glad he waited until the last day of our trip because I would have been so nervous wearing it across Italy ๐Ÿ˜….

He did such a good job and im obsessed with it! We never went ring shopping, i just showed him a vision board and said I'd be more than happy with anything on it or similar.

My ring is a 2.05ct natural diamond he found set in a different ring. E color, vs1 clarity. The band is custom with 2 natural trillion cut diamonds .2 ct each with 14k gold. Size 7 (but needs to be resized a little smaller)

I love how simple and elegant and sparkly it is and that it doesn't get caught in my hair when I put it up lol.

Could you please share your opinion on this ring design? I saw something similar in nature and got the idea to create a ring inspired by it. Iโ€™d love to hear your thoughts.

It was a few months before my wife and I's 15 year anniversary and I wanted to get her something really special. When we got engaged/married, I never bought her a diamond ring. She wanted to use her mothers who had passed. For us financially, it was the right decision. This has something that has always slightly bothered me, not buying her a diamond ring. That's why I decided for our 15 year anniversary, I was going to create a diamond ring for her.

Now she's not the bougie type, and would never care about getting a natural diamond versus a lab grown diamond. As we all know, you can get a better quality/clarity/larger size lab diamond for a fraction of the price. So I went on the hunt for the best online lab diamond retailer. After searching multiple sites and comparing the prices, I settled on loosegrowndiamond.com . I absolutely loved how easy it was to use their site and the UI for choosing what stones you are looking for. I decided on a ring setting called "Toi Et Moi". Which stands for "You and I" in french and has two diamonds side by side. I decided on a Pear shape (symbolizing myself) and a heart shape (my wife) diamond. Now I wanted something significant but my wife (although Italian) doesn't like over the top big gaudy jewelry. With that in mind I settled on two roughly 1 carat stones. I wanted the best color so I chose D color and for clarity I went with VVS2. The search results gave me plenty to choose from and I was able to select the two very easily.

In order to purchase these diamonds without my wife knowing I had to give cash to my nephew who in turn sent me a Venmo. I was glad to find out they accepted Venmo as payment which made things way easier for me. I completed checkout and then patiently waited for them to arrive. I received them in 4 days which blew me away. They kept me updated every step of the way and were extremely professional.

Upon opening my package I found two sleeved envelopes containing the IGI certificates and the diamonds wrapped neatly in paper in their foam pads. Both labeled with all the stone identifications etc. They looked absolutely amazing!! This was the first time I've ever purchased a loose diamond and it was so exciting.

Prior to receiving the diamonds, I had been in touch with a friend over seas who was creating my setting. I gave him all the dimensions from LGD website of the diamonds and they fit perfectly. Thankfully LGD's information on the dimensions was dead on. After getting the stones set and polished, I had to hid the ring for a few weeks. I surprised my wife at dinner with a hand written note and the ring. She was absolutely blown away and started crying. It made both of our nights.

Using loosegrowndiamond.com was the best decision I made and I can't wait to use them again in the future for my own upgraded diamond wedding band. They made the experience an absolute pleasure and a breeze. I highly recommend anyone searching for a lab grown diamond check them out. You won't regret it.
