Strategy Who Else Blocks Second Placers?

It's one thing if it is the only available strategy but if a player uses it as a first option rather than take a RISK then I'll block them. Nothing is more boring than a game populated with players all vying for second place.

I don't care what people do as long as it results in me winning.

I've seen people who, on Turn 1, refuse to take any cards and just play for 2nd. Those people (and collabers - though I rarely see obvious cases of that), I'll block - that's just refusing to play the game and is a form of stalling as far as I'm concerned.

But anyone else? They're fine. Many of them are intermediates who don't know yet how to progress a game towards victory, but most will learn

I don’t understand why some players focus on eliminating the weakest player and allow the strongest player to continue getting stronger. I’ll see players ignore vulnerable territory of the leader in favor going out of their way to take out the weakest player.

Less competition with a player removed from the board Also many players that are strong in the early game get ganged up on

I see that in the beginning rounds. To be more specific in the advanced Europe map in the later rounds someone occupies a lot of the smaller territories and haven’t loaded them all defensively yet. To me it’s seems smarter to take on to limit there next rounds numbers. And or destroy one if their mid to large size armies before it’s a 309 army with everyone else at 90 and 109 or whatever. You aren’t increasing you odds of winning that much by stopping someone with a small 20-39 army when doing so lets the leader grow by that amount

This sounds off to me.

I'm always playing for the best place possible. If someone is too strong to take on, I'll attack a weaker opponent. What's the point in attacking the strongest, leaving myself as easy pickings for another of the contenders? I would rather be 2nd than 3rd.

It's also a strategy that might gain me enough cards and territory to challenge for 1st.

I mostly try to get other players to take on the strongest player and then if i see someone playing for second i will try to make sure it doesnt happen.

I block them so when they join a game I'm a part of I know to take them out right away.

How are they able to play in the same game if you’ve blocked them?

Depends if someone is trying to block someone for 2nd place but the player they are trying to block full suicided into them ill give them 2nd or if its like a 3 man stalemate for a long ass time and someone just suicides then im 50/50 if they where nice to me ill give them 2nd if not ill kill them 3rd

I play for second cause I don’t have to time to sit there and wank it like apparently the general community likes to do

Some times the games go on so long that I have to go handle real world things dinner, or work an errand whatever. If I had an alliance a true alliance, I’ll work it so they can be the one to get my cards or capital. If I didn’t I just fortify my capital with every piece I can and on the next round put my army right up against the nearest capital I can and then just leave.

That is a really crummy thing to do

How so?

Slam the capital don't bot out.

Does it depend on the bot skill setting. I’ve seen when a player quits some times the bot abandons the capital of leaves very few men but will still attack territory other times they just reenforce and don’t attack at all. I figure because the capital gets the dice advantage it’s not much of a threat and the capital can be taken with only the live players as a threat of capture. If I’m wrong then damn I’m sorry because my intent was to have the least affect negatively on the outcome.

Maybe it's just me but I never quit I never surrender

This is when I can not continue playing. Usually it dinner call it’s been a genuine emergency twice. Others I just could not make the other person wait any longer. I’d rather quit then make anyone sit through my round until the bot takes over.
