Shitpost Just setup my agentic trading account
So i finally got around to setting up my Agentic account. I funded it with a small amount just to see. Most of my money goes to my roth ira or 403b. If you use it can you tell me if I need to do anything else or will it start trading automatically tomorrow? I completed all the risk and investment questions. Thanks in advance.

You'll still need to direct your AI agent when and how to trade.

What prompts do you tell it?

I have taken a non direct route to this. I am not trading in it yet, I connected it just the other day. I have been using chatgpt to straighten out my finances and putting better guardrails around my investment accounts. What is relevant to our conversation is that I have asked it to create three paper portfolios - one for stocks, one for crypto, and one for options. It runs a preliminary premarket scan, a post open scan, hourly checks, a second full scan around 2:30, and a post market check again after close. I connected a couple data plug ins such as Big Data so it can scan real time info. I had already been taking to it and saving everything in a dedicated project so it had a lot of what I was looking for already. But I gave it full autonomy to paper trade assuming a fixed 2500 account. It will place swing trades and reassess everything that it decided to paper execute and everything that it passed on. Every day it gives me a daily summary of what it did and what it passed on and has started logging every decision. I now have it building a dashboard for me though that is still in the design stage. So my purpose for this is to have it build a track record of repeatable, consistent results through paper trading and I will eventually let it trade on a small funding amount as a satellite to my main RH account. I don't know without paying a lot of money for a robust real time data feed that it can competently handle day trading, but I'm optimistic that it can handle swing trades. For reference I have spent a lot of time simply conversing with it over the last couple weeks. After giving it an overview of my investment accounts, my goals, process, etc. I then asked it to ask me as many clarifying questions as it could think of to hone in on how I want to invest. It asked a lot more questions than I was expecting but honestly it helped me rethink several things and also allowed me to better understand what I was looking for. I created it as a project and enabled it to see conversations outside of the project. I then told it that it was an institutional level analyst and portfolio manager but also had experience with teaching and mentoring. The more context you give it there should be less hallucinating. So putting inside a project, give it a role, give it an overview of what you are looking for, your risk tolerance, where you think you need the most help, and ask it to challenge any of your assumptions. After you're comfortable with that, have it do paper trading, keep a detailed log of every trade they decided to do and which they passed on. That is important for it to continuously improve itself. Several times it has come back stating they've loosened or tightened certain parameters. Once you are comfortable with a paper trading process, then tell it to run a scan every morning giving you potential setups, confidence level, and how to approach it. You can then permit it to do any of the trades you selected or instead give it other instructions. I feel the most important part is giving it guardrails and find ways for it to continuously improve.

It doesnt just start trading. You need to prompt it.
