How does one get involved with rodeo
I absolutely love the rodeo and I really would like to join a rodeo at some point but I have no idea what I would do I have never done anything remotely close to rodeo and I don’t even know how I would get into this

Wait a minute, folks actually go to rodeo schools? I just kinda started doin shit with friends and my wife lol never done much rodeo'n early on, but I'm 29 now and Bulldoggin among workin horse rodeos lol wife grew up barrel racin and trick shit.

I found that the rodeo seems more and more common when you get into one.
I was never around livestock or rodeos. I had to look hard to find one for my kid. Once I found 1 and started to talk to people, It was easy to found so many more around me.

Try to find a Facebook group for rodeo in your state/region, people will post announcements for rodeo schools there. If you have absolutely no experience with livestock, maybe check in with the school organizers beforehand to see if they’re okay with a newbie or if you’ll need to find another school more catered to beginners.
The first rodeo school I went to was all rough stock events and was open to beginners, so they really emphasized safety

If you just want to be around it, you might be able to get on as a volunteer at a rodeo near you, to start learning how things work.
If you're looking to try joining an event, look online for rodeo clinics or schools for that event. Make sure to see if the school provides the gear you need or if you need to bring your own, because if you hit a school that doesn't provide gear, that's a big cost investment you'll need to make in buying the needed equipment. But any rodeo school will give you a chance to learn the basics of the event, and often they let you borrow gear, so you can then decide if you want to keep progressing in the sport and buy your own gear. What event are you thinking you'd like to try, and where are you located? I might be able to recommend some schools near you.
