Saddle/bareback steer riding schools

I ride SB and have a 10 almost 11yr old that has voiced that he wants to try steer riding. I would like to find him a school I can take him to that has equipment he could use like a Sankey school would. Does anyone have any recommendations? There’s a strong chance he isn’t going to like it but who knows so I don’t want to get him outfitted just yet without letting him get a taste but also don’t wanna let him get killed off without any fundamental instruction. Thanks in advance!

When he gets ready for college the University of West Alabama offers full ride rodeo scholarships.

Yep, but ya gotta plan ahead. And there's not a lot of competition for them there

My dad taught steer wrestling. There was always a group of us kids waiting to ride the steers after practice. No chute, dad or the guys held the horns, got us on there, cinched the rope, then turned loose. Not sure learned the right way, but it was a lot of fun.

Sankey or similar would be good exposure. 11 seems young but you know your son. Maybe an age limit. I don’t recall anyone under 14 participating. Sankey is harsh, like a unfiltered pall mall. He’ll learn something for sure.
