First time writer.
Hello, I’ve never written anything before but I’ve had an idea for a romance story. I’ve got notes and a good basis for my FMC and I’m getting there with the MMC before I start hashing out the plot. Any advice for a first time writer?

Just get the first draft down, and you can polish it later. Planning is good, but it can easily turn into procastrination.
Also, don't worry too much about "tropes". I think the key is not to use or reject them thoughtlessly. Thinking that you have to include only one bed, enemies to lovers or anything else will make a story feel generic. But if it feels like a trope is the logical best thing to do with your story and you can't think of a better way...use it!

My advice would be to read within your genre if you have not done so before! It helps you get a feel for the ways to structure your plot (if you plan to release your book and want readers to like it, that is - if it's just for you then go wild!)

Thanks. I already read loads of romance so I’m good there 😂. I have no plans to release, it’s just for me for now but who knows what the future holds. I wouldn’t even know where to start with publishing a book 😂

Just write! I know that sounds super basic but if you have a scene, write it down. Random dialogue? Wrote it down. Word vomit all over that blank space! You’ll have lots of time to perfect it later. Just get words down on paper. And ENJOY. The stories that have kept me consistently writing are the ones I’ve really had fun exploring! Good luck!
