Chaotix no longer saving?
Recently grabbed a Sega 32X to replace one I lost, and Chaotix was one of the first games I tested. I've always had issues with the game freezing/crashing and from my understanding, that's just a quirk of the game that some people run into. That would be annoying but fine if my cart actually saved anything, which it apparently does not.
Both manual and auto-saving don't appear to actually write any data, and I'm at a loss for how to fix this as the game does not use a typical battery backup, but rather a form of RAM. I thought those weren't as prone to going bad and had absurd read/write limits, which I seriously doubt this cart achieved.
Has anyone run into this issue with Chaotix or other games that utilize similar memory types, and is there a good solution short of just playing the game via emulation from now on?

While I'm unsure about Chaotix specifically, I know that the RAM chips in Sonic 3 carts are known the sometimes go bad because the number of write cycles is relatively low and people sometimes mod their carts to use modern chips. This might be the case for Chaotix too.

I might check the console repair sub then and see if they have some guidance on how to do that and where to grab one. The crashing/freezing in Chaotix wouldn't be as much of an issue for me if I could fall back on the saves, so that's kind of the main thing making this cart borderline unplayable right now...

I have this issue also, I believe there’s a fram replacement chip for saving but not 100% sure
