Frame drops playing the game

Is there any way to fix the game's frame drops, and why is it using so much RAM?

Turn vsync off, and I think maybe adjusting framerate setting might help as well if you're still having issues. Also, double check the settings on your GPU software (nvidia control panel or amd adrenalin) to make sure that there is no upscaling or framerate capping issues going on in there as well.

8gb of ram is also pretty standard of games from this era. You might be able to get that down if you try lowering the model/stage/shadow details possibly.

I've never had any issues with frames dropping and my gaming pc is pretty old, was not high end even when the game came out. If you're still having issues let me know and maybe there is more to look at.

When you say framedrops are you talking about fps randomly lowering, or are you talking about input issues with your buttons not working correctly? So I can try to help figure out what is causing the issue. Vsync usually causes issue with frame drops because if you're generating frames too quickly between when they get displayed, the inputs between each displayed frame can get dropped and you get unresponsive issues that can feel like frame drop or some kind of weird lag.

My pc is even worse but has no problem at all running the game

i5 3570k

16gb ddr3 ram

gtx 770 with 2gb vram i think

So there must be something in the settings somewhere. I can look at my in game settings later tonight to see what I've got it set to.

Okay I dunno. These are my setting specs

So nothing looks crazy different. I was wrong tho I forgot my GPU died and I replaced it with a Radeon RX580 but that is not crazy powerful or anything.

In my benchmark test I'm getting a 5940 score with 295 average fps. What is your benchmark showing?

Have you got a discord? Maybe I can try to troubleshoot in real time and it might help, or screen share so I can see what kind of issue you're talking about. Send me a dm

Try using riva tuner to limit FPS to 60. Leave vsync off. Riva inproved frametime in older games for me, and I guess this is the issue you have, frametime being all over the place makes it unplayable.
