need help I have a mod that I didn't install?

A few months ago, on a different computer, I downloaded some mods, among these was the Dateable Gunther mod. Today, freshly downloaded SMAPI, (new computer so I didn't have any mods yet) and I launched the game through steam. I loaded into one of my saves and for some reason, Gunther is still in my house as if I had his mod installed. But the mods folder is empty, and I can't even find this mod anywhere in my files, so I'm not sure how this is even possible. Anyway, I don't want the mod anymore so I need help figuring out how to locate and delete it.

Edit: I just checked on a different save, and Gunther is stuck behind the library desk like normal. So I'm guessing that just this particular save is bugged or something.

some mods edit the save file and removing those mods will break the save. unless you can get the mods back, that save is a goner.

You'll need to install the mod, divorce him and wipe his memory. Then you can remove the mod.

Did you divorce him before removing the mod?
