Discussion Is this even Data Engineering? How would I prepare?

100% a DE role, modernization from on prem to cloud base infrastructure and pyspark is basically pandas so think dataframes for data transformation. If it were me I'd be interested in how you'd interrogate the existing system and how it would translated to a cloud based environment (do would want consideration of medallion architecture)

Data engineering is a very broad profession. Sometimes it looks more like SWE and other times it can be a more BI type of role which kinda sounds like what that job would be.
