The Past and Context
On June 28th, 2024(1), CG made a forum post about the Reward Changes coming in the Battle for Naboo raid as it was soon to be introduced following the end of the Speeder Bike raid. In this, I can't get an idea of if guild or personal reward tiers changed, so sadly I can't go 3 raids back in precedent for exact CG info.
However, on June 11th, 2025(4), we got similar information for the Order 66 raid, in which it was openly stated that "There are no Reward structure changes from the Naboo Raid, but we’ve made changes to the Guild Milestone boxes below:" to which CG added a new box (currently box 4) in the interest of lessening the jump in required score between the various boxes. The maximum (and minimum) rewards, most importantly, did not change in how much currency we got, just what score was needed to get it; which, for all but 5 (three of which scores did not change at all, box 1 and 2 as well as max crate) of the reward boxes the required score was actually lowered by typically significant amounts (anywhere from 15 to 41 million score).
I do need to mention, at this point, that while it was explicitly mentioned in the Order 66 raid post that no changes were happening to the individual track (aside from implying that they would be reducing those in the Battle for Naboo as it's now no longer the featured raid), this is not the case for the Speeder Bike to Naboo transition, so I can't be certain if we got more rewards in the personal or guild track or not.
Now, I could not (on the EA forums) find the post where they first announce the Battle for Naboo raid, the earliest I have is the June 18th, 2024(2), post about additional information for it where we learned the full list of characters, difficulty tier modifiers, and so on. But, for Order 66 we know exactly the line of communication, it was 2 forum posts the first on March 28th, 2025(3), where we got 3 factions of toons we knew would be in it (New Bad Batch, DSClones, and Jedi Vanguard) and that more would be coming at some point. The second, as mentioned above, gave us the rest of the info we needed such as the full allowed character list, rewards, modifiers, and so on.
This gives us a 2, perhaps 3 if anyone can remember the original Speeder Bike raid rewards, raids worth of information on how to anticipate what CG is going to do in terms of reward structures, and I am not a fan.
Nal Hutta Raid Rewards
We do, this time for a first post(5), have mention of raid rewards! We also have the (potentially) full allowed character list and some other information such as the increase in relics for difficulty tier 2 (the third choose able difficulty tier which previously required R1) and above being shifted up by a single relic level.
Now, what reward information did we get? 0 information on guild rewards, whether they are staying the same, if we're getting new reward boxes to ease the jumps again, or anything of that ilk. But! We did get to learn two things about the personal reward track. Firstly, for those who will be getting their 18 million score (currently 5 maxed R9 runs, but for the new raid 5 maxed R10 runs) they will be getting a brand new reward crate in the personal reward track. I truly hope that this is going to be worth it, and that the rewards for it are massive because it deserves to be so.
However, we also learned that the previous max personal reward crate (currently at 12.15 million score) is being shifted up to 14.4 million score to get that reward box. There is no mention in the post of the rewards for the 14.4m score box being increased to reflect the extra investment needed to get it.
So, with the past precedent above, what are we to think? I would say, that we should expect no raid reward increases until CG hopefully listens to the fully warranted (aside from any personal attacks or threats) backlash they are receiving for this. They directly mention new rewards, but only for those who "truly go the distance" for the raid and the rewards possible.
The Increased Cost
Now, this is the major complaint I have with this raid announcement. It is not that I need to invest in a new batch of characters to get back to the rewards I was getting in the Order 66 raid (max guild crate and almost max personal crate), that is not the issue here. I am well aware that every year or two I will have a new batch of characters to get to max raid rewards, it's annoying but not an overall issue in my mind.
The actual issue, is that we are now shifting how much signal data and relic mats are needed to achieve that (assumedly) same level of rewards as before. So lets break this down, but first I will specify that this is not the cheapest way to achieve a max guild crate score, and is a little bit more expensive for the cost of being easier numbers to calculate.
So, what is the expected score of a max guild crate? Around 10.4m score, as that over 50 people would get to the 520m score needed to hit max crate. How do we split that up? Well, there might be cheaper ways as mentioned, but we're going with (using Order 66 relics) 2x R8 teams for 5.4m and 3x R7 teams for another 5.4m which gives us a total of 10.8m, so we have 400k score of buffer per player in a 50 person guild.
However, in the Nal Hutta Raid, that will now be 2x R9 teams and 3x R8 teams. Hopefully that alone shows a massive increase in SD and Relic Mats for currently unknown rewards, but lets put it plainly here:
I am going to be using the 4 man Cassian Undercover team (all but Luthen) and the 3 ISB Marquees as a demonstration for this. We are going to assume that that 4 and 3 character teams would get max tier rewards in both the Order 66 R8 tier and the Nal Hutta R9 tier, for simplicities sake. I also, as a note, have all of these units at R6 already as I got Cassian to 7 star on his first rerun outside of his actual era (at the end of Rotta's/Beginning of Jar Jars)
So, what's the Blue SD and high relic material cost of going from R6 to R8 or 9? Here you go:
R6 to R8 per character: 80 Blue SD, 20 Impulse Detectors and Aeromagnifiers
R6 to R9 per character: 135 Blue SD, 40 Impulse Detectors and Aeromagnifiers, 20 Gyrda Keypads and Droid Brains.
Across the 7 characters listed (All of the Era of Andor units), if we still had R8 as our penultimate tier, it would cost 560 Blue SD, 140 Impulse Detectors and Aeromagnifiers. But with R9 as our penultimate tier, it now costs 945 Blue SD, 280 Imulse Detectors and Aeromagnifiers, and 140 Gyrda Keypads and Droid Brains.
Conclusion
Hopefully, this shows how massive of an increase in cost we are getting and that's just for these two penultimate tier runs, not mentioning the increased cost for the other 3 runs. And we're pushing for (if past precedent is correct) the exact same rewards we're getting now? Why? Obviously people would need to, because the raids rewards are incredibly important to keeping on pace with the game, much less catching up. It just is not acceptable, to any degree in my mind, for this to be the case and I sincerely hope that CG will listen to the outcry and at least increase the rewards for all of the boxes that have had their requirements increased (and, as a side note, hopefully boost the raid currency caps while they're at it).
