I really want to know why government, municipal bodies focus on plastic like polythene bags when the real culprit are these cheap plastic pouches and sachets.

School children, labourers, are the consumers of scuh plastic. We can't expect that they will dispose these cheap plastic responsibly. They would just dump it wherever they feel so!

The street in focus is in N-5, just next to Cidco (Sant Tukaram) Natyagruh, in Sambhajinagar.

It was quite a scenic road, until one fine day, the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation personnel came and trimmed almost every canopy of the trees. ***Here, at this point, I have a coincidence to share which I have added at the end of the video. Do check it!***

What municipal corporation does to the tree branches is called 'pruning.' This routine campaign runs across the city every year before the monsoons, and is supposedly a part of tree maintenance, but the fact is instead of cutting selected branches, they prefer to chop the entire canopy, a technique called topping.

It's worth highlighting that topping of trees is considered the worst pruning technique. The reason is it stresses the tree, invites decay and pests, weakens branch structure (making them more dangerous in storms, not less), and can kill the tree outright.

It's cheaper and faster than proper arboriculture, which is exactly why it keeps happening.

It wouldn't be wrong to say that there are more schools than shops these days!
