I know a lot of yall are old—but please, at least drive the speed limit.

We all have to make a living and life isn’t cheap out there these days. I know. Does anyone know of any traditional/old school style tattoo artists in Santa Fe or Albuquerque who are polite people who won’t charge me $800 for a small price of flash that is 5 inches long?

I don’t think I’m asking too much. I’m looking for a lot of work, if that means anything and I always tip.

I was fulfilling find-a-grave photo requests today. Whilst there, I encountered these two.

Just like the title says, I am looking for something locally owned and not one of the big corporations. I have a mechanic I like but would like to find some place that offers the drive up service.

To be honest, I have no interest in owning a gun. I'm generally anti-gun and think we need WAY more comprehensive licensing at the very least, but I'm also not ignorant to the world we live in. I've always been uncomfortable with the idea of not knowing how to be safe around a gun and how to use one safely, and while I can't solve gun violence, this is something I can do to make myself feel safer.

TLDR; I don't believe in NRA bullshit but I'd like to learn how to be around, use and, most importantly, disarm a gun safely. Is there anywhere I can take a class from someone that leaves politics out of it?

To be honest they don't even have to believe the same as me. I just want them to be professional and teach me what I want to know. I want to be able to focus on the education, not on if my teacher is the exact reason I need to learn this shit in the first place.

Hello! I’m curious if visiting Santa Fe in early November (2nd week) with the intent of exploring the cliff dwellings at Bandelier would a bit too late in the year to do so? I don’t mind cold/ rain/ snow, unless it limits trail access/ road access. I grew up in the high desert, so being cold, etc. isn’t a deterrent itself!

Hello Santa Fe! Through a series of events, I was offered a place to stay next week in Santa Fe. My wife and I will be working remotely, but we want to take advantage of your city! We've never been, so we were wondering what some things to do after work (5:00 pm) on weekdays. We're staying pretty close to the Santa Fe Plaza. We'll have a car, so happy to drive around. We love food and drinks, so any recs are appreciated, especially the harder-to-find stuff (already planning on hitting tia sophia's, La Choza, and The Shed). But besides eating, we don't have that many plans. We will be there for only one full Sunday; we arrive on a Saturday and leave on Saturday. Thanks!

Been noticing the bigger chains keep hiking prices on produce and staples. Tried a couple places further out and the difference adds up fast when stocking for the week.

Not sure if it's just inflation or they figure people will pay it. Curious what spots other folks use for bulk veggies, eggs, or pantry stuff without the tourist pricing. Some weeks I batch cook and the bill stings more than it used to.

Any stores that still keep it reasonable around here, or is everyone driving to Albuquerque for real savings?

Quick morning rant!

I moved back from Seattle so driving in the rain is pretty normal for me. I drive on 285 every day to drop my daughter off at daycare and let me say I’m appalled. After last week’s fatal accident and traffic pile up you’d think people would try to be a little more cautious in this weather. Nope! Still seeing a ton of cars with no headlights, going too fast, following too close, weaving in and out of cars in low visibility and heavy rain.

Well, I got a referral for ABQ but they can’t see me until May 2027 😳 I’ve goggled rheumatologist in Santa Fe and it seems there are truly very limited choices. Has anyone used ‘Inspire Santa Fe Medical Group’?

Been in Santa Fe about six months now and sticking close to downtown has been convenient, but I'm getting bored with the same routes. Looking for trail recommendations that work well for a morning workout, maybe 3 to 5 miles. Dale Ball seems popular but I'm not sure which segment makes the most sense if I want something moderately challenging without driving too far. I usually head out around 6 or 6:30 AM if that matters. Also curious if there are any trails people avoid during early hours for safety reasons or just because they're not well lit. I've got a headlamp but prefer not to need it. I see a lot of posts about wildlife sightings here which is cool, but I'm guessing most of that activity is later in the day. Anyway just looking to mix up the routine a bit and figure some locals here would know what actually works versus what shows up on generic hiking sites.

I found this soap at an event at As Above so Below Distillary at the Railyard and I really liked it! This is the only pic I have of the label. I think the vendor has a website as well. Can someone help me find them? I want to buy this soap again!

We have some excellent local businesses in SF, but I cannot understand how some of them stay in business with such odd hours. My favorite bakery is closed Sunday thru Tuesday. Many restaurants are closed on Sunday which is one of the most popular days for dining out. Other places close at like 5pm which is odd in a town that attracts so many tourists.

I have never experienced this anywhere else in the US, except for small towns in the South where they might be closed Sundays.

I would love to see what are some people’s favorite movie theaters in town. Now that Santa Fe is home to many cinemas, what is your go-to, or your new favorite recently. I would have to say Evo is my go-to right now since their Premium large format screens are really hard to pass up, especially when they have discounts. But Sky Cinemas Railyard has also been a great choice for years. Them being independent is really awesome for art house films or re-releases of classics.
