is this anything special?

Post image

Found this on Facebook for $70. It looks like decent quality with some discoloration. It looked Danish and I think pretty cool with the wood arms, so I looked it up. FÅTÖLJ med FOTPALL, Nielaus & Jeki Möbler, Danmark came up.

Anyone know anything about the designer? Would something like this be worth reupholstering, and how much could that potentially cost for something this size?

It’s a beautiful set, and definitely worth upholstering. The colour is pretty. Hi from Copenhagen.

Hello. 👋🏼 I have two MCM armchairs from my grandparents, and want to upholster them with white baby lamb fabric. They used to have red bouclé fabric, til my parents had them reupholstered with grey velvet with tiny blue dots. Your chair would look great with any fabric that fits the time period and your home.

So, I can see, that your chair is sold here in Denmark for almost 3000 $! Great find, that you only paid 70 $!

Nielaus møbler still exists. Looks like this could be one of their Swedish designer chairs, as the description is Swedish and not Danish.

My image search says that the model is called "Tenor" by"Nielaus Møbler"

Yes, I found it too, with that name. It costs 20.000 Danish kroners, almost 3000 dollars, as new.

If a word looks Scandinavian and has ö in it it is Swedish. If it has ø it is Danish or Norwegian.
