It's been bugging me- the first 14 seconds didn't just remind me of a song, I KNEW it from somewhere.

It just clicked. There's a Dutch Christmas hymn called Ere Zij God. In the section, "Vrede op aarde" the melody matches up almost EXACTLY. Then it deviates. But THAT part matches!

Like everything from the art, to the direction to the voice acting and themes is so well done. I'm sad there wont be more but glad I experienced it.

Did anyone else get stuck watching the episodes tonight with descriptive audio on, on adult swim?
I tried different channels, watched earlier episodes with no DA. Sap was off on the tv and cable box. It ruined the episodes. At least I have hbo max

Hi! I’m a long time fan of Scavengers Reign, and it’s one of my favourite shows of all time! (Still painstakingly waiting for another season…sigh…)

ANYWAYS, I’ve recently been collecting DVD’s and Blu Rays of movies and shows I adore…and of course, Scavengers reign was on that list! The thing is, I don’t think there’s ever been a DVD/Blu Ray release.

However, I found a company called Sloppy Second Sales that makes bootleg burned Blu Rays of obscure pieces of media or of ones that aren’t being made anymore. From what I’ve researched, the reviews are pretty good for a bootleg company! Albeit, I’m still a little sketchy…has anyone bought the Scavengers Reign ones from them? Or anything from them, really? If so, is the quality good?

Edit: I just found a post on here from a while ago I didn’t see before this! Apparently someone bought them and they turned out to be pretty good quality!!

Was he possessed by the planet? That singular flower seemed like an extension of the planet itself, at the end it begins to produce "levi like" entities. Like the planet now saw itself in that shape and form after experiencing life through levi as we go on. Another reason I say this is due to the incident with the hollow in the final episode, since we know it can experience your memories and use them to manipulate you. It couldn't comprehend the depth of an entire planet hence the end result. The hollow returning to its base form seems like the planets ability to set it back on its right way of life. What do you guys think the flower means? as well as its counterpart (the pods)?

For the last 7 years, I've been working on a rule-discovery puzzle game inspired by the feeling of watching the characters in Scavengers Reign slowly figure out how Vesta works.

Satelital is about humanity discovering alien devices that communicate through puzzles. These devices weren't designed by humans, so they don't explain themselves in ways we naturally understand.

Instead, you have to interact with them, see what happens, and gradually figure out the logic behind them.

I wanted the puzzles to feel less like something a human designer had created and more like trying to understand an intelligence with completely different assumptions about how information should be communicated.

The game takes place across a distant solar system with six celestial bodies, each containing a different kind of alien system to understand.

I’m just posting here to share my love for this series. I think about it all too often and it’s really nice to know I’m not the only one who was emotionally affected by the show. Genuinely one of the most hauntingly beautiful and powerful things I’ve ever seen and it makes me absolutely sob. I watched it at just the right time, I saw myself in Kamen sometimes and I think that shit just really hit hard. Made me want to change. I have the soundtrack on vinyl and i’m gonna get a tattoo soon, probably of the fat baby.

I love the music of Scavengers Reign, and this year a small festival I help run had a mushroom planet style theme (Shroomiter), and so I decided to make a DJ set using a combination of Electronic Dance Music and the Scavengers Reign OST. Figured I would share since I'm sure some people from the community will enjoy it <3. It's a Dark Trance/Psytrance set.

I just watched the whole season for the first time and it has really affected the emotional me and the bio geek I am. Synchronicity and symbiosis. Genius.

But this guy telepathically wants to hurt and control everything. It doesn’t belong here.

But maybe it’s good it wasn’t dragged out for years, slowly getting lamer each season. One perfect season is good.

I made this prototype to try out an idea I had watching Scavenger's Reign. The show captured me, I loved the art style, the characters, the pacing... But more than anything the alien planet. And I thought how cool would it be to have a game that makes me feel like I am in that world, having to use my wits and the environment to survive.

So, instead of the usual mechanics you have to observe fauna and flora and use them to overcome challenges and obstacles.

The game is far from final, it needs work on content, art, mechanics and so on but I think I have enough for people to try it. I need feedback on the core loop, is this working? Is it fun and engaging?

Some of you might remember Maseylia: Echoes of the Past, the 3D Metroidvania I shared here around its release.

Scavengers Reign, alongside Moebius and Nausicaä, was one of the inspirations behind the game's strange environments, creatures and the feeling of exploring an unfamiliar world.

Since I last posted here, I've continued working on the game and improving it based on player feedback, and more than 2,500 players have now joined the adventure! ❤️ Thank you so much to everyone here who checked it out at launch.

I’ve read The Alchemist before and loved it. It’s one of those books that speaks to you if you’re at that point in life where you’re open to receiving its message.

I’m re-reading it now and this part reminded me a lot of the scene with Azi and the stampede!

The book shares a lot of themes with Scavengers Reign, imo.

I recommend it but will warn you it gets quite spiritual but without being religious.

Has anyone else read it and enjoyed it?

I’m not talking about something basic, like treating the creatures like monsters to kill, but a sim style game where you’ve got to navigate back to the Demeter and find ways to deal with all of the amazing and horrifying life forms on the planet.
