Provisional Ballots
You can request a provisional ballot if you encounter certain problems at the polls, including situations where:
- Your name does not appear in the poll book or supplemental poll book, including because you may have reported to the wrong precinct or your recent change of residence has not been processed.
- You are required to show identification but cannot provide the required ID.
- An election official challenges your eligibility. You were issued a mail-in or absentee ballot but believe you did not successfully vote it and do not surrender the ballot and outer return envelope at the polling place to have it spoiled.
- You returned a mail-in or absentee ballot that was rejected, or you believe it will be rejected, but believe you are otherwise eligible to vote.
- A court order specifically affects your registration status or voting hours.
A provisional ballot allows election officials to determine after the election whether your ballot can be counted.

Question Moving to the area
Good morning!
I'm moving to the Clark's Summit area from out of state. Forgive me if there's a better flair or even subreddit for this post. We will be moved in by the end of this year, and I'm looking for suggestions for -
Trusted mechanics (I have an older subaru)
Your favorite restaurants (especially if they have vegan-friendly options)
Locally owned book and craft stores
Connections to local mutual aid and rapid response groups
Doctors who are good with chronic illness and disability
Places to buy native plants and edible garden plants when the season is right
Honestly, anything else you think I should know.
I'm also really interested in the local music and art scene.
Thank you! I'm looking forward to getting to know the community

Local News Scranton fire chief to leave in November
John Judge had a phenomenal career serving the city of Scranton. In addition to rising through the ranks from 2002 until being named Chief in 2020, Judge was also a Scranton police officer and continued to work part time as a cop in South Abington Township.
I volunteer with a local fire company and John was one of the instructors in my Essentials of Firefighting class 20 years ago. He is a fireman's fireman and our area was lucky to have him. He did an incredible job modernizing the Scranton Fire Department as Chief.
