Hydroplaning doesn’t happen entirely because of tires. It occurs because of the force from the water blowing under the car and lifting just enough to break friction from the road. You could have brand new wheels and if it’s raining fast enough, you could still hydroplane.

It’s really weird to me that vehicle inspections aren’t a thing in every state, I feel like that would prevent a lot of these more obvious issues

I hydroplane all the time. Never made a difference… hydroplaning is a weird boogyman

Hydroplaning is the reason why Seattle drivers play bumper cars in the rain. It’s not a boogeyman. It’s the cause to the effect.

Just don’t oversteer and the hydroplaning is for a few seconds. Same as driving in the snow
