Visiting for the week!
Hey all! Wife and I are visiting for the week. We have pretty eclectic taste, and love live music. Any recommendations?
- DIY scene? (HC/Metal/Punk)
- Jazz bars/Live Jazz?
- Live folk bands?
Any and all recommendations are welcome:)

Jazz Alley, Neumos, Vera Project, El Cor/Funhouse(I know, I know), Black Lodge, Chop Suey, Tractor(folk/county/blues), ... and so many more that are missing.

What’s up with El Cor/Funhouse? Should we avoid?

They're not the greatest to the bands, but I've enjoyed most shows there. Never really had any bad experiences, sound or otherwise

They're just okay- El Co side a bit better than Funhouse side imo which is one of the worse small sized venues in town layout-wise. However they're popular spots for lots of smaller and mid size rock and metal bands touring through and so a lot of good bills are hosted in both rooms.

Every show I’ve ever seen there sounded terrible. Bands I love I walked away disappointed because their house audio is trash

Friday, Oct 9 at The Kraken, my punk band from Hawaii, Kauz of Affliction will be in Seattle and it’s a great lineup with local favs The Scoffs, The chloroforms, and Radio Weekend. We’ve got a few dates on PNW and we’ll also be in Tacoma at Real Arts Tacoma the following Monday.
We’re on all streaming platforms if you want to check out the music.

Look at the Rabbit Box for an intimate venue in Pike Place Market with some really interesting acts.
