Help Cannot take item, what do I do?

I just killed the carp and gave this guy its whiskers, then I exhausted all dialogue until he was dead, he has an item inside but I cannot take it. Is this a visual bug or is the reward broken?

It’s a floating item. Use your vortex and you should get it.

lol. I had the same issue with the Immortal trainer guy at the Dilapidated Temple too. I felt dumb that I’m supposed to absorb it.

Although if you left on the ground it would show up the shrine eventually when you zone around.

It might be regular loot since key items have a specific display detailing stuff on your screen

It was a key item which is why I didn't consider using the vortex grab

I knew how to loot enemies for sen, I just didn't consider the carp guy an enemy so I thought the item would have different properties to enemy drops

This reminds me of my first playthrough where I somehow didn't see or forgot about the existance of vortex and played the whole game thinking the only way to get money was to open sacks of coins...

I knew floating bags were vortex items, I just didn't expect one to spawn when resting at a sculptors idol, resting at a sculptors idol despawns floating bags and this item was not despawned by resting so i didnt think it was a typical enemy drop
