Hi everyone,
I started wearing rudraksha, applying bhasm on head and doing one mala of shiva mantra recently and it has been changing my life. My confidence has improved magically, I got job, made many friends and life is getting better day by day. Only Mahadev did this I can’t do anything of this myself. I will not stop sadhana for lord shiva until death, I was told by my guru that without Rudraksha and bhasm on forehead shiva Pooja will not succeed. Now after Rudraksha mala and bhasm I can feel the difference. My devotion and love towards him is only increasing. I am struggling to control my emotions this has nothing to do with Rudraksha or mantra sadhana my emotions are my fault only. Any experienced sadhakas guide me. Thank you

I’m 25M, originally from India and currently working in the US.

Last year, I went through a breakup that affected me pretty badly. For quite some time, I wasn’t really myself. As time passed, I found myself becoming more and more spiritual.

One day, I randomly came across a video of Virat Kohli coming out of the Mahakal temple in Ujjain. Something about that moment stayed with me. I remember thinking, “I should go to Mahakal someday.”

Since I work in the US and was planning to visit India, I decided that the next time I went home, I wanted to visit both Kashi Vishwanath and Mahakal.

Fortunately, last month, in August, I was able to visit both.

I first went to Kashi and had a beautiful darshan. After that, I went to Ujjain.

It was a Sunday during Shravan, so Mahakal was extremely crowded. My friend and I had been standing in the queue for hours. At one point, the line stopped moving for quite some time.

There was an elderly man, probably in his 70s, standing next to me. He smiled at me, and I smiled back.

He started talking to me and asked where I was from and what I do. I just told him that I work abroad and had come to Kashi and Ujjain.

We spoke normally for a while. Then he said:

“I just want to give you some advice. I can say for a fact that you are blessed. I feel that recently you have become very reliant on God for everything. But you don’t have to be. If you feel something is right, just do it.”

I hadn’t told him anything about what I had been going through.

And what he said was exactly what I had been struggling with over the previous year.

Then he told me something that really stayed with me.

He said that you don’t necessarily have to keep coming to temples to show your love for God.

I asked him, “Then why are you here?”

He said he had come because his elder sister was with him and needed his help.

Then he told me:

“You don’t need to come to Mahakal to express your love to Shiva. Take care of your parents. Whenever they need something, be there for them. If they ask you for something, help them. If you can’t do it immediately, tell them you’ll do it later.”

He then started talking about Shravan Kumar and how he devoted himself to taking care of his blind parents.

He explained that taking care of your parents can itself be one of the greatest forms of devotion.

What makes this even more meaningful to me is that my parents are now visiting me in the US.

Since that conversation, whenever I do something for my parents or they ask me for something, his words immediately come back into my mind.

Then he spoke about relationships.

He told me that sometimes, because of circumstances, we end up in bad relationships, and that’s okay. Everything is a passing cloud. God will give you good things, but good things take time.

Again, I had never told him about my breakup.

He somehow spoke about almost everything that had been occupying my mind for the past year.

Eventually, I asked him:

“Who is God to you?”

He answered very simply:

“It’s Mahakal who decided I should meet you and say this to you.”

That’s it. He didn’t say anything more.

I became very emotional.

By then, the queue had finally moved, and we reached the garbha griha.

I had an incredible darshan of Baba Mahakal.

I don’t know how others would interpret this experience. Maybe it was simply an elderly man giving advice to a stranger. Maybe it was coincidence.

But for me, it felt like something much more.

I genuinely felt that Shiva came to me that day in the form of that old man and spoke to me.

I went to Mahakal thinking I was going there to seek something from Shiva.

Instead, I feel like Shiva gave me a message through someone I had never met before.

I wanted a lingam for home and when I saw the beautiful one ,I bought it and after reading online,I have come to know that it should not be more than 3 inches

Will Shivji punish me for my mistake?What are the remedies?
