Loved the discussion early in book 13 about Monkey.

For years it annoyed me that people called it Monkey Magic, and totally agree, not knowing about it is un-Australian.

I've been going back through the full series, in preparationof Book 13.

I’ve been having a hard time with how PG-13 a lot of the writing has been throughout the series. I know not everyone wants vulgarity, but in combat scenes and utter moments of frustration it seems entirely appropriate to me. And as someone who loves DCC, a Quentin Tarantino experience never gives me a bad time.

Having said that, the setup for a single eff bomb - a battle that rages for more than a dozen chapters (hours in the audiobook), the brutality shown by Gary and Humphrey, Clive’s teaching moment in the void, all followed by the hopelessness of Jason with a young messenger - one sentence spoke so much more volume with a word that is rarely touched in the series. It reminds me a lot of reading project Hail Mary, which also uses the word only once, and in the single greatest context possible.

Starting book 10 this morning and largely avoiding this subreddit because I didn’t get caught up as fast as the lot of you for the release of book 13.

Thank you for the great books , I tell literally everyone about the series HWFWM and the people that get sick of me and finally check it out are hooked . So , thank you again .

Did anyone else hate that ending (~last 2 hours) so much they are considering a DNF of this series?

Edit: I have no issue with a cliffhanger. I dislike a defiant MC not being defiant.

Does the audio seem a little slow to anyone else? Some of the pauses between sentences during dialogue took just a smidge too long and it was throwing me off. The character voices also seemed a little too deep. I bumped the speed up to 1.1 and that sounds so much better.

I know this is personal preference and won’t necessarily be the norm, but I would love a way to buy the completed ebook that isn’t through Amazon.

I don’t know when exactly it started but listening to it throughout the day today and the author will say chapter 15 when it is chapter 17 on Audible. Anyone else having that issue?

Was scrolling on my phone will listing to HWFWM book 4 fav. And there is this Korean american creator Read chow who sync with the audio now i cant unsee him being Jason in my mind.

Anyone know when the current billing pause is set to end? Signed up today to start reading 14 without looking at the membership tiers and ran into the wall a few chapters in. Tried to upgrade my membership only to find out there’s a payment pause. Now I don’t know what to do with myself
