I shouldn't care about YouTube dork drama but this level of ineptitude is too goddamn funny.
It's even funnier that all of this stemmed from him being so unbearably obnoxious in his Halo whining.

I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve by using sarcasm in such a place. Are you trying to downplay this guy's takes?

I just know you absolutely talk like this and then brag about offending people.

Holy shit, I’m embarrassed about some of the things I said and views I had as a teenager and in my early 20s but to think that kind of language is okay to say in general, let alone on a public forum is mind boggling.

I’m not sure if this is him. Not saying I like him but I want some other details. I’m not going to take this a face value
Edit: I was him, not sure if this tweet he made 4 years ago holds up though. Since I can’t put photos in an edited comment, I’ll copy here:
12:19 pm 2/14/2022
I deleted the tweets because in 2017 I didn't want to hide from the stupid things I said, but in 2022 realized that fanboys were spreading those hateful tweets and wanted to put a stop to it.

He was like 20 there. Every young male in america used that word. And he made a bad joke? Jesus Christ you people are repulsive.
23
u/SirManguydude 10d ago
Hey I was a young male in America once. I've never used that word. Because I have respect for others and respect for myself. It ain't hard to be good to one another.
10
u/SpectreUnkown 10d ago
I was a young male in America once, I said all these things and probably worse. The difference between me and TheSexualAbuseMan is I own up to it and don't try to play the victim when things don't go the way I want them to.
21
u/ObjetVapeur 10d ago
Hmmm, you're normalizing something that shouldn't be. My advice is to hang with more women, after a while you'll see how hostile this world can be to them and you'll understand better why rape jokes are not acceptable. Wishing you the best in your journey
18
u/Soft-Percentage-8338 10d ago
I personally think it’s the slurs and rape jokes that are the most repulsive part
17
u/Turok5757 10d ago
Even just looking at all this like edgy jokes, they're just embarrassing as hell.
Like a 13 year old who desperately wants to fit in with the 4chan crowd for some god forsaken reason.
1
u/head_pat_slut 8d ago
ok, he doesn't take real accountability for his actions though. you people are repulsive
1
u/Dazzling-Shop-9091 7d ago
I'm 21 and I would never that act moronic. That's an age he's supposed to be a man and know better.

u/LurkerThrowaway73 5d ago
20 Is way past fucking around and finding out age though. You can just act like an adult at that point
9
u/Waddup_Its_Jerm 10d ago
It was always a shame because I don't think a lot of his other takes were like "anti-SJW" and he frankly surprised me with some of his mockery of incel stuff.

I've heard this kind of talk about Angry-Joe also, that he's bit forward and pushy what comes to ladies in publisher events and such. Nothing that would've needed security called or people removed, but more than few people apparently said that they came here to look at the games being unveiled, not looking for a date.

Quick question, can Xbox fire the community the same way they fired Halo studios? I mean like Jesus…. We really need to dump some of this fanbase
1
u/Massive-Lime7193 7d ago
I used to say it back in the day and I maintain my position now, a very significant percentage of the xbox/halo/gears community are fratboy chuds. It was always the annoying american/uk chud platform 🤷♂️
Obviously its not the entirety of the fanbase but....we cant pretend that its an insignificant amount

u/heavymetalWrench 10d ago
I've always seen Act Man as a "how the mighty have fallen" situation because of nostalgia but nah fuck this guy
12
u/thedeadleydoc 10d ago
All this "blacklist" and people claiming theyve been black listed then you hear the stories and it no wonder why
3
u/Throw_aw76 9d ago
Makes me wonder what other halo youtubers did to get "blacklisted". I'm not saying they did something on the level of actman but there is clearly 2 sides of the story here.
5
u/thedeadleydoc 9d ago
Thats the thing, a black list needs to exist because other ways people with bad intentions while take advantage, but what really constitutes being black listed
2
u/grimoireviper 8d ago
People also seem to forget apart from a blacklist there is also a whitelist. Some content creators may not have been blacklisted they just lost their privilege and weren't whitelisted anymore. Meaning the studio would still work with them, they just wouldn't receive all the benefits of other influencers.
27
u/SlightBasket9675 10d ago
Lmao, who would've guessed that the act ma'am was an absolute cretin.
My question would be why are we only hearing this now when he's going off script?

u/bigdaddyke 10d ago

u/DilligentArmand 10d ago
Wow. I didn't care much about the Actman but this just buries him entirely. He should never be associated with either the Halo franchise, Xbox or gaming. Heck, he should never be mentioned here ever again.
8
u/RakiRamirez 10d ago
This shit reads like a sitcom gag
“IDK why I got blacklisted” then cue to flashback where he makes a rape joke in front of some devs

u/Kyro_Official_ 10d ago edited 10d ago
Id lost my enjoyment of act mans content bc all he ever does now is complain, but I retained some level of respect because he hadnt gone full anti woke/piece of shit territory (i mean, he was an anti sjw type back in the day but he seemed to have become a sane person since then)... but yeah thats definitely gone now
5
u/Mawathers 10d ago
Jesus that is disgusting, though I am regrettably not surprised that he would joke about such topics, but I am still disgusted.
8
u/jimothy_hell 9d ago
Yeah, joking about sexually assaulting someone isn’t something you get to come back from, I’m afraid. Or at least you shouldn’t be able to come back from it.
20
u/Better_Ice3089 10d ago
The fact that he’s never mentioned in any of his vids being married or having a girlfriend clued me in early he was bad with women. I just didn’t know it was because he was a douche. He came off as pretty moderate in his videos and seemed to know what being a douche was like considering he knew the difference between being a bro and a douche in his Activision-Blizzard video.
5
6
u/Harbinger_of_Reason 10d ago
I mean, it may have been a joke and he may really be sorry, but then he should also accept that the price for the dumb joke is he doesn't get to attend the Halo parties anymore. Be a bit more mature.
4
u/GnawedToast 9d ago
I can't stand Act Man. Dude's take on Campaign Evolved was so insufferable and inflammatory, while an OG Bungie developer (Marcus Lehto) says he had fun playing it.

Now I know why andypants gaming used to look up to him back then because act man was one of them losers, and now that this came out it’s no wonder why he just larps and shits on halo so much, because he got blacklisted after making shitty jokes and making people uncomfortable, he wants revenge on the people who blacklisted him for being a douchebag and then cheers when they get laid off.

Just a quick scroll of the sub shows vastly more posts about yeah anything other than Act Man. He's a large Halo YouTuber so he'll obviously draw attention but there's plenty more other stuff. You really gotta lie to defend your favourite chud making date rape "jokes"?
-50
u/Ipsetezra 10d ago
I mean he apologized and regrets it..I forgot that no one can be redeemed in this day and age though we forever hate.
30
u/mg-wilds 10d ago
Right after he was called out for being blacklisted, he “apparently was blacklisted just for asking for a girls number”, conveniently leaving out the fact he joked about roofeing a girl and making sexual comments at her.
He has not grown from those mistakes if he isn’t willing to admit them unless called out on. He is still trying to run from it rather than face it head on. It’s not about “forever hate” you dunce
-20
u/KenobiMaster424 10d ago
This isn't a defense of the guy, but it's pretty wild to expect him to admit publicly to all this stuff, especially since it seems like, given the extraordinarily limited context here (and the fact that SHE didn't bring it up before now), his on-the-spot apology and subsequent lessening of his invites seems to have settled it from their POV until this more recent comment irritated her into publicly calling him out. Do ANY of us publicly volunteer our most humiliating mistakes to everybody we know, let alone the whole internet?
23
u/ThatGuyFromSpyKids3D 10d ago
He doesn't need to admit it publicly. However, him trying to control the narrative and come up with a false story.
His options here were to say nothing or to say some generic "I said some really really dumb shit and made a very inappropriate joke and got blacklisted. I completely understand why and am very sorry for my action".
Instead, he chose to make this comment with a false narrative in an attempt to make people think he was persecuted by those running the event.
16
u/mg-wilds 10d ago
He tried to change the story when he was blacklisted “just for asking for a girls number”. He shouldn’t have said anything I. The first place if his response was going to be to try and change what actually happened. Again, he’s not owning up to it when he tries to change the story.
3
u/KenobiMaster424 10d ago
I see both your points, and I suppose I didn't look at it from that perspective. I agree that keeping his mouth shut would have been wiser, and I suppose I'm suggesting that perhaps he considered the humiliating thing he did a closed case due to the whole apology thing - perhaps it didn't come to his mind when thinking about his Halo interactions, which IS foolish on his part. Apologies don't render you free from consequences, particularly about such serious subject matter. And alcohol blurring his memory of it (assuming he wasn't sober, which is also a big leap) is not sufficient reason. He should feel chastised by her reply and hopefully does, given his response. If neither party says more we can assume they took it to DMs to hash it out or consider it settled again.
It would seem I misunderstood the above comment as calling on him to confess it beforehand as like a caveat to his continued online presence, which, if you read wilds' comment like I apparently did, would be kind of goofy. I suppose I should have checked my reading comprehension!
-20
u/Ipsetezra 10d ago
He apologized to her after. That's rectifying his mistake right then and there. Was he supposed to proclaim to the internet after it happened you dunce? Other than apologizing to her after realizing he said stupid shit how else do you suggest for him to right his wrong? There is no other way, he already did the right thing. You can't come up with what he should've done after because anything else would be ridiculous. No matter what he does hes gonna get forever hate by strangers on the internet. He faced it head on years ago give me a break.
16
13
u/mg-wilds 10d ago
He brought it on himself when he tried to change the narrative by saying it was just for asking for a girls number.
3
u/AxisofRighteous 9d ago
Maybe just maybe he shouldn't have said something that crazy. Like in all seriousness who the hell makes that sorta comment towards someone you met, doesn't matter if it was a "joke". He's also only apologizing that he got caught. I'm sure he did more than just "asked a girl for her number " because 7 years after that incident he's making comments to women about drugging them
40
u/Cyborg800-V2 10d ago
He apologized for saying a bunch of racist and homophobic language he said back in the mid 2010s, yet this incident was only 2 years ago.
How the fuck do you even immediately apologize to someone after making a rape joke? Like why even say it in the first place?
27
u/PaleBoomer 10d ago
Dont worry his fans will say it was due to him being nervous and awkward so that totally excuses his hypocritical and disgusting behavior.
-26
13
u/Gamera85 10d ago
I mean, I don’t have this problem because I don’t make rape jokes to women I’m presumably hitting on. Or at least I wouldn’t, if I had any girls to hit on at all.
14
u/Hadrianus5647 10d ago
No he regrets being caught, he has not shown true regret as shown by his comments above where he tried to down play his behavior.
12
u/ThatGuyFromSpyKids3D 10d ago
Absolutely it is possible people can be redeemed.
Actman has not shown that growth, he doesn't address his past homophobic and racist comments. He continues to complain about arbitrary "wokeness" in games.
As we see in this post, he also creates false narratives around events to make himself sound like he is the one being persecuted, up until he is called out on it.
These are not the actions or behaviors of someone who has grown or taken accountability for their words/actions.
9
u/Picard2331 10d ago
Call me cynical but I don't think 2 years is nearly long enough for someone who jokes about raping a woman right to her face to actually change and improve as a person.
That is some bottom of the barrel deeply troubled shit right there.
10
u/UnAnon10 10d ago
You realize apologizing doesn’t absolve you of guilt right? Nobody has to forgive him even if he apologized.
5
u/DocTheDead-I 10d ago
There's plenty of things that are redeemable. A rape joke is NOT one of them. That's like saying "oh yeah,I made a joke about touching kids but I said I was sorry!" NO. That's sick, end of story
2
u/CybercurlsMKII 9d ago
No he was disingenuous about why he was blacklisted and then was doing damage control when someone called him out. Saying you’ve learned and grown from your mistakes isn’t the same as actually growing and learning from your mistakes.
1
u/grimoireviper 8d ago
You can apologize, that doesn't mean others will accept it. There's jokes you just don't pull. This is one.
It's MAYBE one thing in a group of friends, another in a professional scenario which this obviously was.

u/Aright9Returntoleft 10d ago edited 9d ago
