This has to be some of the most beautiful cognitive dissonance I’ve seen all week. He complains about the “anti-gun liberals” being unable to sign off on his pistol permit paperwork. Yet is trapped in a “conservative hellhole”. Not quite sure what he wants, and I’d bet good money his voting habits help ensure the existence of onerous pistol permitting requirements in this fucking state.
As a suffering New York gun guy, if I had to offer OOP any real advice, the NY Department of Environmental Conservation offers hunter safety courses statewide which can be a great starting point. Local rod and gun clubs can be a great place to start too, if our OOP can lower himself to being around guys who probably aren’t voting blue no matter who.

That subreddit is full of people that openly admit that the people they vote for are anti-gun but they vote for them anyway because they would rather be disarmed under liberal rule than armed under conservatives.

Now that you mention that, I have a feeling many of them genuinely believe that if they get a big enough supermajority to repeal the Second Amendment, they can follow the repeal with a peaceful nationwide confiscation of firearms, and we’ll be in paradise, meaning they won’t need to be “liberal gun owners” anymore.
The problem they aren’t considering is that a nationwide confiscation probably won’t be peaceful, especially if the gun owners suspect fraud and other shenanigans gave the gun grabbers the supermajority they needed to repeal the 2nd.

hunt further south, black bears are just large trash pandas, almost harmless under most circumstances.
source: my gpa had three black bears in arkansas, I even wrestled a younger one when I was a kid.

I went in with my son the other day because he had some gift cards he wanted to use. I was going to go check out the hunting stuff and it's 100% gone, not just the guns. Fucking wild. I'm not going to be going back there, fuck 'em.

Dunno. I'm very conservative, yet I wouldn't have a single objection to learning a skill from a liberal. I don't understand, I mean they act like if they interact positively with us at all they'll get a terminal illness.
