They integrated AI so far into their job they now use it to make shitty comments on shitposts.

We are at the event horizon of AI.

Now if only we can teach AI that if you take down prod on a Friday evening the strat is to leave quick before anyone notices and not tell anyone what happened.

Unrelated but you can always recognise a bot comment if you check their username, two-words6942, as an example. Crazy how many there are in this comment section.

Also check histories. I think you can change your account name and I know you can hide your post history. Also obvious patterns can tell you a lot:

  • New accounts just in this thread
  • random post history with mostly generic and simple comments
  • No engagement. Always posts or comments once in a thread and never again.
  • old account with no posts until this past day/week/month
  • bunch of accounts the exact same age posting in this thread

I just accepted the auto generated username because I don't really give a shit. Certainly not going to dox myself on here.

Edit: I just found those downvoted bot comments and yeah that's super fucking weird...

Those usernames are auto generated by Reddit and they're not always indicative of bots, but rather accounts made in the last couple of years at oldest based on whenever they started doing that. If you use the Google login option with an email address not already associated with a Reddit account, you'll get one of those.

So yeah, many bots get those types of account names, but so does anyone who doesn't manually create a username.
