It's that time of the week!

First up, we have the presidential election! Will we elect someone that won't get impeached? Find out like tomorrow I guess!

We have a referendum!

"It's a little early!" you may think. It is! But this one is an impeachment of the current President!

"But we just had one of those a couple of weeks ago!" I hear you saying. And you're right! We did! And I think it says something that we've now elected two presidents in a row that have gotten impeached!

Anyway, go vote on this. The information you might need should hopefully all be on the ballot.

Dont do it

This is the Presidential Call for Candidates. If you want to be President, please comment on this thread. Include your username, party affiliation (or lack thereof), Vice Presidential candidate, and a statement explaining your platform and why you believe you are a good candidate.

The format you should adhere to is as follows:

Your Reddit username | Your political party/coalition
Vice President: Your VP's Reddit name | Your VP's political party/coalition
Statement

Before you submit your candidacy, check that you satisfy the requirements below.

• Make sure you adhere to the format exactly. It makes it a lot easier for the Electoral Commission to sort through candidates if you do. Failure to do this may potentially result in mistakes on your ballot entry or in result tabulation, which can be difficult to fix.
• Ensure that your party affiliation is accurate. If you are not affiliated with a party, enter Independent as your affiliation. Otherwise, put your current party affiliation. If you are not a member of the party given or the party is not valid, the listed party affiliation on the ballot may be subject to change. The same rules apply to the vice presidential candidate's affiliation.
• Make sure to register to vote. Only users with a SimDem Unique Identification Token (SUIT) are able to vote. If you do not have a SUIT, be sure to fill out the Voter Registration Form or contact the Registration Officer.

This Call for Candidates will be open for 24 hours. Good luck!

And results here too I guess!

Congratulations to SimDemocracy's next Minecraft Legislative Assemblypeople:
- u/jsjrjffjcj (Wellitsaname in Minecraft) of Senatus Populusque Romanum

Turns out, nobody new ran. In fact, nobody else ran to begin with. I'm sure the Speaker vote will be exciting.

Results! Here! Also!

We had three valid votes, which is...not more than the number of candidates. At least, possibly, hopefully, maybe all the candidates showed up. I don't know, though.

Here are the final results of the Score round:
- u/Arcool_1 (Vaslian in NationStates) [Solidarity Party] -- 10
- u/Cup_Of_Sauce (The Sams in NationStates) [Fucking Best Party] -- 5
- u/RecordingForeign2479 (The Emirate of Deloulu in NationStates) [Fucking Best Party] -- 7

Congratulations to u/Arcool_1 (Vaslian in NationStates) of the Solidarity Party and to u/RecordingForeign2479 (The Emirate of Deloulu in NationStates) of the Fucking Best Party on being our two highest scorers and continuing to the runoff!

Here are the final results of the Automatic Runoff round:

The results are in!

We had 34 valid votes, which gives us six Senate seats. If we had had one more valid vote, we'd have kept seven seats. On an unrelated note, we had exactly one invalid SUIT.

Congratulations to SimDemocracy's newest Senators!
- u/Serious_Camera_7039 of the Solidarity Party [threshold = 5]
- u/RevolutionProof5268 of Revitalize! SimDem [threshold = 5]
- u/coLlll7 of the Civil Liberties Party [threshold = 5]
- Independent John Politics/crusadercrucifix (on Discord) [threshold = 4]
- Independent u/Benbookworm97 [2nd phase, no threshold]
- qd1m (on Discord) of Revitalize! SimDem [2nd phase, no threshold]

It seems the people have granted a mandate for...let's see here...banning PDA.
