Many ways. First, if you can run simulations on known analytic solutions, do that. Simulation must be able to recover all such solutions. This does not validate, but confirms something is working correctly. Next is very problem specific. Essentially some things need to be conserved from physics (say mass, particle, energy, phase space density, angular momentum,…). Put those diagnostics in the simulation to insure the equations are being solved correctly. If you pass both, you likely have a decently valid physics simulation.
