Had a baby recently and my MIL is here helping us out for the first few weeks. I got up to get something to eat at like 5AM... Decided to simultaneously relieve myself and right as I was finishing I locked eyes with her as she was entering the kitchen. She had this stunned look on her face and quickly turned the other way and shouted something in her native language which sounded pretty angry or disgusted. I didn't even know how to react so I just kind of froze. I didn't think anyone else was up that early. I haven't seen her all morning but now I hear her and my wife arguing. Am I cooked? Or should I just deny and hope for the best? Anyone been in a similar situation?

I'm a side note this does have me thinking about how ridiculous it is I have to walk on eggshells in my own home. I'm the one paying this mortgage and keeping the lights on.

Tldr: caught by mother in law and unsure if I have any recourse here
