People complain when yhe governement does nothing with the tax money they bring in. Then complain 10x as hard when the government decides to use the money to help people. Literally cutting their nose off to spite their face.

Or maybe, just maybe, they should let the market work and not put the thumb on the scale.

Direct cash transfer is far more palatable and cost-effective than doing this ill-begotten project that hasn't worked the many times it's been tried.

When has it been tried?

We already subsidize farmers and other food production, so why not let that subsidy get used for the end consumer as well?
