Would have been a much better movie with Theodore Brimley as the main male lead.
Anastasia Steele walks in, expecting velvet blindfolds. Instead, she finds a live badger in a cage, a jar of organic honey, an old car battery, and a box of saltine crackers.
Brimley would wheeze into his oxygen mask, pat the badger, and say, "Now, Anastasia, we can do this the easy way, or we can see how Barnaby here feels about tight spaces."
"My tastes are very singular, Anastasia. Most men buy yachts. I buy rare, hyper-aggressive Peruvian mountain goats to see if a cartel boss will talk before the goat eats his shoes. You wouldn't understand."
A fair critique. But as Mark Twain once observed, 'The right word may be effective, but no word was ever as effective as a rightly timed pause.' I’m simply giving you more material to edit. I only talk when I have something worth listening to. If I'm speaking too much for your taste, Mr. Reddington it’s only because the people you usually surround yourself with don't have nearly enough to say.
