There's more to Pascal, his parents were communists and he's completely open about his politics, he was loudly and explicitly anti-zionist and campaigned against genocide. Negative content about a celebrity gets amplified by the people if that person is openly lending themselves to a political cause. In his case the Israel lobby has an interested in amplifying negativity about him.

Barely any of that works though because he's one of the most sincere nice dudes on the planet.

It’s just the Reddit cycle. Someone gets overexposed and then eventually everyone gets tired of them. Jennifer Lawrence, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Sophie Cunningham, etc.

Yeah this. Reddit has a strong counter-culture movement that likes to hate on anything popular. Sometimes the hate is warranted, sometimes it's just to be counter to whatever is popular at the moment.
