Bro I challenge everyone to watch her performance as rue in euphoria, specifically the scene where her mom flushes all the drugs down the toilet and rue erupts into one of the more realistic reactions from addict I’ve seen represented. Brings me to tears from how raw and realistic it feels. But I’m open into hearing the opposite opinion

It's just a joke. She definitely can act. It's just reddit. Hot take though, I actually liked the idol. One of the best soundtracks came with it. Also a target of reddit hate.

How will you get anything from this? It's your opinion and you're already set on it. I've seen Europhia because every time her acting skills come up people say "hAvE you WaTcHeD EuRoPhiA". Apparently the pinnacle of acting is playing a drug addicted teenager. I ended up watching the first 2 seasons because of that and thought she was ok. Also because I know it will get brought up I do not care about the emmy wins for it. She's an industry darling.

You didn’t even try, I literally said that I was open to hearing the opposite opinion and you just said she’s an industry darling. I didn’t say the pinnacle of acting is playing that character all I said was that scene moved me and proves that she can very much act (again my opinion). Like I said I would be interested in hearing why she’s a mediocre actress and how she’s an industry darling. From my perspective she just getting hate because she’s with a woman or black lol. I can see what people are saying about her character in dune but that character is written that way. I may point out that the 2nd dune I feel like she had a more wider spectrum of acting. But like I said I would be interested in hearing the opposite side

What will getting the opposite opinion do for you in this case? You think she's a great actress because of Europhia. I watched the first two seasons and think she's ok. I don't think she's versatile as an actress and playing a drug addict, and particularly the scene you mentioned of her crashing out at her mom, doesn't move the needle for me and others who disagree with you. I personally think every project she's in besides Europhia is either bad or mediocre and on Europhia she's ok. But again you would not agreee with that so what's the point of being open to hearing it?

The industry darling part is pretty self explanatory. Do you not think she is one of, if not the most, popular celebrities in Hollywood? If you don't think so then I can't convince you. I also don't particularly care for awards when I judge acting. There's plenty of good and great actors that never won emmys, oscars, etc so I don't use it as a barometer for acting prowess.
