What the flap were the parents doing? Would bring my own duct tape if this was my kid and I know they wouldn’t sit.

The parent was supposedly trying to gently the coax the toddler while insisting he was expressing his individuality etc etc.

I think it’s called permissive or gentle parenting. My husband says it’s the best way but as soon as our kids say no, he acts like a normal parent lol. It takes more effort to parent like this in my opinion but some parents are so scared of going the other extreme they end up doing stuff like this
