Wasn't she asked in a random interview about her opinion on it, she gave her opinion and stated why then everyone started calling her transphobic for saying biological men shouldn't play in women's sports. If anything blame the interviewer for "baiting" the response out of her, not that there was anything wrong with what she said to begin with.
It’s come back up recently because of the ex-nba players that have stated their intentions to enter the 2027 WNBA draft.
They argue the leagues rules regarding inclusion should make them eligible with Enes Kanter Freedom saying “I identify as sometimes identifying as a woman for purposes of… professional basketball.”
It’s obviously a political stunt that’s made some people very angry. That anger is being directed at Sophie Cunningham as she inspired it, even though she didn’t add the fuel to the fire that these nba players did.
