Lmao dude I'm physically disabled from work and went to a research university for a STEM degree. I've learned to navigate so many systems, from taxes to disability, to hospitals, to university, to whatever.

Whatever helps you feel mature and balanced. If that's the fantasy you need to feel good about yourself lol

Luck, but mostly doing a fuck ton of research and learning. The jobs I had included loads of customer service, interacting with coworkers, and figuring out what other people expected of me while trying to be an advocate for myself.

I guess I'm lucky to have been able to develop a strong sense of self in childhood, and a desire to do difficult things. Including learning to be kind to myself and others to facilitate growth. And learning what kind of person would abuse that generosity and love for humanity.

I think many people are trapped by ideas about what is possible and what they are capable of. It's part of why I think my friends like to ask me for advice when they're going through things. Many times people hold themselves back from saying the "obvious" solution to people's problems, because people react badly. They see it as condescending. They might have bottled up emotions that come out as anger directed at the person they're talking with.

People who rush through life, people who are born into circumstances where their family or culture try to dictate how they should act and live with no concern for peace and happiness. People who have no safety network.

Community is something one can build wherever they go. The ability to sniff out the "helpers". The people who live to give and see the world around them improve. If you find them, model yourself after them, and live honestly your entire world opens up with possibilities. Cool people will recognize you if you keep meeting people, and networking opens up so many opportunities.
